Zius Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Apparently, Albania has tried to sell some of these relics, but somehow this seems not to have been very successful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albanian_Air_Force#Recent_history Personally I would really like a MiG-15 for my front yard, if my front yard would be big enough... frixon28 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Love to go out and buy one of these and have it restored
VZ_342 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Always makes me a little sad and wistful seeing abandoned equipment just sitting in a field. With NATO coming in, sure there’ll be money and jobs but these planes and trucks are cool too.
thrustvector Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 id be happy to bring one back and just sit in the garden!
Svend_Dellepude Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 If I'm not mistaken, that scrapyard was in the Top Gear episode where they went to Albania. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
VZ_342 Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 I’m pretty sure the MiGs would go for rock-bottom prices (even though it’d beat any garden gnome in the “awesome!” dept), but it’s the shipping that’d bite ya.

The shipping cost and process is by far the biggest pain in the rear. If not I don't doubt most of these MiGs would have been bought for static display under 10K!
