Harrier Hovering Performance since Nov update

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed a change in the Harrier hovering characteristic since the latest update, having to max out engine load to maintain any sort of hover even if unloaded and have minimal fuel which inevitably uses all the water and burns the engine out - it's acting like it's constantly overweight even with as little as 1000lbs of fuel and nothing loaded.

Is it possible you are in the Persian Gulf and it's hot out? It will be difficult to hover above a certain outside air temp.

A point I never even considered! Thanks for the tip - I've just started using the Nevada Desert map again!! - Thanks for both replies i'll see if night time improves the engine performance

Remember that Nevada average altitude is higher also. Nothing in common trying to Hover at sea level than at 3000-4000 feet.

I've played DCS a lot and I still neglect how much they model this game - thanks for the response, I'll be changing the mission to be ,dark, snow, sleet, with 20knt head wind and head for the base of the mount tonight before hovering! :-)
