dg6546 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I have recently start flying the mig. Today I was hit by a SAM and there is only one wing left on the plane. Surprisingly I am still able to fly and land it with one wing. SAU stabilizing is enabled. Is this historical correct?
hovring Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Try to fly up to another airplane, wingtip him with your wing. Watch him break apart and lose the wing. Your wing will show no damage and you can continue as nothing happened... Think this a crappy damage model and there are videos of viggens flying with one wing. Its a DCS thing I think.
KilledAlive Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I have never had a survivable situation where having a wing severed actually was survivable. Usually, the enemy damages the aircraft enough to make it uncontrollable. Usually, it's immediate death or a spin into the ground.

Tip his wing with the tip of your wing. He will crach and burn and you will not have a scratch on your wing. Just try it. You might like it.... its an easy way to kill tankers and stuff without wasting ammo in DCS.....:pilotfly: Works with the mig-21. Have not tried it with any other module.

Now you don't seriously want to compare a damaged F-15, which has a liftingbody with a MiG-21, which is nothing else than a cylinder with attached delta-wings...
