Aim120s and R27 are not visible. of course RCS of missiles is smaller than RCS of planes and so kn, but R-27 ER has nearly the same size as the HARM. So some Things about missile-radar-interactions should be tweaked IMO...

That may be correct, but HARMs are detected and have equal size to AA missiles
metzger Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 And F-22 is xyz times bigger than HARMs, but it's not detected. Irrelevant comparison F-22 is stealth fighter. He has a point, I doubt 80s R-27 missile has any stealth technology or any logic to have less RCS in comparison to the HARM. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

FalcoGer Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Speed is probably not the same, too ; I don't know if this has an effect on radar... You get a higher doppler shift with higher speed. This would make the missile stand out more from background noise.

When design and technology is similar, then it is proportional more or less. F-22 has stelth technology so it is not comparable while both r-27 or harm missiles are not, so size matters.
