First of all, that US Navy SEAL is not trying to get OUT of the water, he is getting IN the water, to kick the sharks ass.

On the topic of this post..... "no news" .....and the "July Announcement" threads..... I would not get my hopes up for anything earth shattering. IF they even make an announcement on time, which given thier track record is unlikely, I don't think it will be a real big one. Maybe they are going to change the "estimated release date" from "2007" to "2008".

If ED were close to a release of the sim, I think you would be seeing more hype and promotion of the game. Although with ED, maybe you never know. Thier communication strategy seems to be taken from the CIA handbook, "Don't say anything, that way you can't be wrong". And then they act like spoiled children when their customers get upset at the lack of information and release dates that are missed time and again.

I love your enthusiasm. :megalol:

I would rather say that they would, by not saying anything, try to NOT end up at the end of a firestorm when or if they had to pospone the launch. I think they learned THAT thing before the launch of FC.

As much as I would like to lollygag all over the battlefield before getting the bejesus stomped out of me while flying the KA50 just as much as everyone else: Patience is a virtue. And the fact that we're paying customers doesn't actually mean scheit in the big picture. We're not in a position to DEMAND info about BS just because we bought LO/LO:FC. If there had been a pre-order it would have been differently. There isn't, and that's that.

*puts some patience-lotion in the basket, then passes it around* ;)

Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone.

I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.

Obviously, the pic is photochopped. But why does the origin of the helo (160th ARRS?) mean it can't be a SEAL? Is there some rule against riding in someone elses helo?

ShadowXP, I hear what you are saying, but bottom line is that companies that survive listen to thier customers....companies that treat thier customers like crap don't survive. It may well be that ED has other fish to fry, and we are no longer considered a priority to them. But if they treat thier other customers like they have treated thier LO customers, they are still headed for a disaster. Imagine you are developing software for a commercial or military customer and tell them "It's done when it's done, we ain't gonna tell you shit in the meantime, and if you don't like it, tough." Yeah, thats a winning way to do business, isn't it?

Wow, let the ED bashing officially begin....

First facts first...

ED has kept the community up to date on Black Shark..near weekly for some time... and there is a motherload of info coming soon ...

ED has listened to its customers - Proof is in the current product and future hints droped to the community.

They have Military customers which have deeper pockets than you , I and this fourms members combined. So put yourself in their shoes from a business perspective.

Oh, and making Products for military customers tends to allow you access to detailed information otherwise unobtainable .

They are a business - they need to make money or the LOMAC legacy ceases to exist. So far their decisions on what they say and do has gotten them this far , pretty good in my book - pleasing everyone all of the time is not going to happen.

.

...Give ED a break - they have made , arguably ,the best modern day Air combat simulation to date. And are still kicking ass and taking names... this is a benchmark achievment in the simulation world.

....somebody lock this thread it is going nowhere fast...
