TheHost2102 Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Wishlist for DCS World 3.0: - RAY-TRACING enabled for RTX cards - Free multi crew-capable aircraft for the introduction of DCS World to friends, to give them a quick intro to it to see if they like it. A small propeller trainer such as a Shorts Tucano for instance - Another free map, even if it is a small one - Addition of AI civilian planes that fly random routes to give more depth of immersion - The ability to have pushback tugs that you can use if you get stuck in the grass that, by the way, is impossible to get out of without restarting. - When refuelling and rearming, you could have animated trucks that have to drive over to you from hangers, or workshops to deliver the fuel. - Animated deck crew for carriers - Animated marshallers that direct you to the correct parking stop - More ground vehicles that drive around in airports to make it feel more “alive” - Search and Rescue helicopters that come and pick you up when you eject - Don’t just instantly kill the pilot when you go into the water. Instead, there should be a floating animation with a life jacket. - Landing lights are visible in the cockpit when the gear is being retracted, this should be fixed - Wingtip vortices should be made longer and thinner, as they look too smooth and animated currently - Condensation vapours that form when breaking the speed of sound - Freezing and condensation effects on the windows if the correct heating is not applied - The weather system should be overhauled. Clouds need to be made to look much more realistic. When flying through them, realistic icing effects on the windows should be scripted, to make it seem more realistic. Also, a “set weather to real world conditions” should be implemented as it is really useful in other sims to make realistic looking weather without having to tweak loads of settings for a long time - Afterburner sounds should be made much more bass-y, so that you can hear them much further away, and allows you to ‘feel’ the power of the engines - The afterburner effect should also be tweaked to look much brighter at night. - The ability to exit your aircraft normally and do a walkaround, pre-flight checks, etc… (This would be especially cool in VR) - To be able to climb back into your aircraft once you have exited it. - If the ground crew are added as animated people in future versions, then have the ability to be one in a multiplayer server to enhance the realism even more - In the F3 camera: o Have an option to turn on a realistic “handheld” shake that changes intensity based on how fast the aircraft is moving over the screen. For example, if you are coming directly towards the camera, then no shake should be visible as it is easy to hold a camera steady at a non-moving object. However, if you are racing perpendicular to the position of the camera, then the screen shake is much more exaggerated and over-corrective. o If the plane goes behind a building or trees then it zooms out and stops following you, looking around until you reappear again. - For us British folk, the addition of British fighters such as tornados or typhoons. - Also, the Hawk should be given to another developer to be finished, as a T1.a would be a brilliant addition if it was in a finished state. Postscript: I realise that there are mods that can fulfil most of these things, but the inclusion of these into the actual game would be much better for newer players. Also, I hope that my post does not violate any of the forum’s rules, if it is then please let me know. This is my first post, and I hope that these features are included in a further release of DCS World.

Jarlerus Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 "- Free multi crew-capable aircraft for the introduction of DCS World to friends, to give them a quick intro to it to see if they like it. A small propeller trainer such as a Shorts Tucano for instance" Another seat in the TF-51 would suffice, with the option to "swap seats" mid flight (I know, not realistic, but a "quick-fix".) "- Another free map, even if it is a small one" Small maps coming in the MAC-pack. (there's no economy in releasing more free maps) "- When refuelling and rearming, you could have animated trucks that have to drive over to you from hangers, or workshops to deliver the fuel." Queue A.I. vehicles that get stuck on the way out to the player because "pathfinding is always shit" :P "- Animated deck crew for carriers" Being worked on - Wait for the Carrier Module. "- Search and Rescue helicopters that come and pick you up when you eject" Get friends and CSAR-script - Done :P "- Don’t just instantly kill the pilot when you go into the water. Instead, there should be a floating animation with a life jacket." +1 on this one! Pilots should be rescuable on the sea as well =) I guess it'll be done once ED makes CSAR a part of the game (Soooon.....) "- Landing lights are visible in the cockpit when the gear is being retracted, this should be fixed" I'd think you mean this is a problem for a specific module? "- Condensation vapours that form when breaking the speed of sound" AFAIK it's planned after they simulate air humidity. "- Freezing and condensation effects on the windows if the correct heating is not applied" AFAIK, these effects are now up to the module maker to add. "- The weather system should be overhauled. Clouds need to be made to look much more realistic...." Clouds and weather overhaul is planned (Did you read the road map before you made this list? Doesn't seem so :P ) "- The ability to exit your aircraft normally and do a walkaround, pre-flight checks, etc… (This would be especially cool in VR)" This is a standing wish by a loud part of the community - Not a big ROI on it though - I'd guess that's why it's not done. "- For us British folk, the addition of British fighters such as tornados or typhoons." As _always_ : Module choices are up to availability of Documentation, Developer enthusiasm and ability. Wait until a dev asks for feedback on airframe choice: It'll keep you more sane over the years flying in DCS... "- Also, the Hawk should be given to another developer to be finished, as a T1.a would be a brilliant addition if it was in a finished state." You assume there's devs willing to pick it up, and you assume that ED has accsess to the code. (AFAIK they don't - They said something about it I think.) //Jarl Jarl at YouTube DCS Service Span and Wishlist Spreadsheet Forum post for discussion of above spreadsheet Retro Electro Playlist on Spotify

WinterH Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 The Goshawk would be great :) Honestly, I'd much prefer a fixed T1A. It is the Hawk after all. And between carrier ops and ability to carry weapons, I'd much prefer the latter. Finally, while I am not British, I do think that having a proper British jet is only fair compared to having yet another American aircraft among many others :). Emmy Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 A “Tug” is not your savior if you’re truly stuck off pavement because the tug is going to bury up to the hubs as well. Get the Harrier, get a RAF skin for it. Close enough. Amd write the MOD and tell them they are a bunch of wankers for not releasing documentaion.
