In real life is possible to run the radar while you are on the ground?

Because imo i think it would be dangerous with all the outputpower that the radar has.

If I get the question right, Radar mode does automatically stays in standby mode when on the ground. This is indicated by the Maltese cross on the left bottom side of the radar screen. The Maltese cross goes away when the weight-on-wheels logic is off after take off.

I believe this has been implemented.

It displays the cross, yes. But the radar is still active, as in still showing moving contacts on the radar. Don't know if it triggers spikes in other aircraft.

Because it's a bug. It already worked in one patch last year though.
