cabzi Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 F-18 wingmen do not comply with "Engage My Target". - Wingman, engage bandits -> works - Flight, engage bandits -> works - Wingman, engage my target -> no response - Flight, engage my target -> no response i7-6850K | GTX1080 | 32GB DDR4 | Windows 10 Pro
ED Team NineLine Posted February 24, 2019 ED Team Posted February 24, 2019 In order to use the "Engage My Target" you need to use the Lock View form Padlock view. Its default assignment is the "." on the Number Pad, it will lock your view on the target you want to engage, then you can command your flight to engage it. cabzi Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Thank you for fast response. I should have been more specific with the problem. If I lock an enemy plane with radar (STT) and give radio command to engage my target, nothing happens (even the verbal command is left out). AFAIK, this works ok with other aircrafts (F-15, Su-27, Mig-29, M-2000). i7-6850K | GTX1080 | 32GB DDR4 | Windows 10 Pro
Fisherman82 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Worked with the TV sight on the Su25T also Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk

AFAIK, this works ok with other aircrafts (F-15, Su-27, Mig-29, M-2000). I can confirm this Locked a target, gave radio attack my target command Result: no radio command is given (no audio) No confirmation from wingman (audio) Wingman stays in formation Giving the engage bandits command, was the only way to get my wingman into action (Flown two missions from the user files section and had the issue on both missions) Edited March 7, 2019 by sirrah System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Fisherman82 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I can confirm it also. However Im sad to see that they branded it NO BUG and NineLine said that it is not intended to work like we are used to in the F15, Su25T and A10A for example where it can be used to hand off targets that are designated by radar or sensor. Instead only by padlock that I never use (do anyone use it?) I guess we can only hope that they update the whole communication with wingmen so that we get more useful commands like the ones in the Viggen at least. Fence in/out and stuff and better control of lights also. I have given up on single player air to air in the Hornet for now. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
Eagle7907 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I agree with the sentiments here. I can understand previously when we didn’t have datalink. But shouldn’t the flight be able to see who’s targeting what with the radar? If so, then they should be able to accept such a command to engage. ED Team NineLine Posted March 7, 2019 ED Team Posted March 7, 2019 I'll talk to Wags about it a bit and get back to you if datalink is sharing enough data I say sure, but will ask. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Capn kamikaze Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Nineline, there are other comms we really could do with having in general, not just related to the F/A-18, such as asking for wingmans fuel state and if they have any battle damage/failures.

Especially the fuel state. I love the “bingo-bang out” procedure the AI use. Very realistic. cabzi Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) I haven't seen this mentioned in the patch release notes, but I just noticed that commanding AI wingman/flight to "Engage my target" finally works in single player mode with hornet and viper modules. [NO BUG] is now correctly stated or change it to [RESOLVED]. Edited February 27, 2020 by cabzi i7-6850K | GTX1080 | 32GB DDR4 | Windows 10 Pro
