bkthunder Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I can hardly lock anything up in VACQ mode, other ACM modes seem to work far better. Is this normal or a bug? Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s
SirJ Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I don't see any problems... The range is limited to 5nm, so it should be used during dogfighting (only). AFAIK other ACM modes are up to 10nm - so way more distance to use. In terms of performance it works very good for me. As said before - dogfighting only. It takes a bit for the radar to cover all the space, but it locks in way less than 2 sec - faster than needed...
foxwxl Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 VACQ is designed for turn fight, U will find it is VERY useful in that situation. Deka Ironwork Tester Team

Tenkom Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I also had trouble getting vertical scan to lock anything yesterday. I was in a turnfight with a fighter. It was very close. VACQ would not lock. Once I got him in the center of the HUD I switched to boresight and it locked instantly. This happened more than once.
