Jester: do your RIO shit!!

Hey guys, I just had time to barely scratch the surface and just enjoyed the flight model actually.

 

Tried quickly the training mission with guns, and after hitting the first plane you can go waypoint 2 where 2 mig 28 are waiting in circles.

 

Jester told me a lot of time to do my pilot shit.... But how the hell can I ask him to do his RIO shit?? :megalol:

 

Indeed I ended up flying straight to where they are... then turning in circles close to the enemy F5, never able to see them while I'm on them on f10 map.... And Jester never find anyone on the radar. I tried to ask him to look straight on the radar and so on.... But I never could find those F5....

 

 

So... To sum it up: How are you using Jester so he can find other planes on his damn radar ?? Feeling really dumb not being able to have anyone seen or locked :cry:

Had the same problem, he is not seeing them on the radar most of the time probably because they fly in a circle and keep notching the radar.

Noob Jester needs to learn how to use Pulse mode! How did this guy even graduate?

So no special worflow to ask stuff to Jester he should work on the radar by himself and is probably just not seeing something?

For BWR my Jester usually finds the targets when I ask him to look for them. I would appreciate a bit more help from him all around though, like helping me to navigate to a tanker without reverting to the F10 map and ACM lock.

Yeah, Jester is not that great within 10nm. Wish there was some way to tell him to switch to Pulse mode.

I think there's an option in special tab, but not sure if it works. Something about switching to pulse modes automatically.

Same experience here. “Nails 7 o clock at 70nm”, yeah that’s great Jester but where’s the two f5’s off our nose at 3 miles?

I was worried about how a two person crew would translate to essentially a one person plus. Jester works awesome in some situations and not so well in others currently and I hope it gets to the point where he recognizes the situations and acts accordingly. When things are happening quick it’s hard to tell Jester to do something that a real rio would just do based on the situation.

I concur on all these points. Done some missions against even large bombers that you can see con trailing dead ahead and he can't find anything.

 

We need a command also to somehow make him re search in front of the nose. I have been shot down twice due to him locking a target thats 40mi away and ignoring one 15 mi off my nose acting like it doesn't exist.

 

I am sure they tried to balance him so hes not to good at finding everything. But when you can see stuff con trailing or firing missiles at you and he acts like nothing is going on it needs more work.

I experienced the same issues in the AA mission with the F5's. Couldn't see them and Jester wasn't very good at finding them with the radar either.
