Ever so often at random, when I fire up the game, right off the batbefore I even do anything I have noticed that the wings don't work. They WINGSWEEP and the CADC warning lights are on before I even do anything. The wings only work manually, and it's a pain to jave to keep looking at the wingsweep indicator and follow the CADC schedule and adjust the wings accordingly, especially when you're in a dogfight.

The only thing that makes it go away is to shut down DCS and start it up again. that USUALLY works but sometimes it doesn't and it's a pain, especially since it takes so long to load up to begin with.

Anyone else have this problem? I don't know how it gets triggered. You can switch missions and it's still there.

I've had this happen, the flaps are over extended and locked down, regardless of how you try to move them, so the wings won't sweep back.

I have a similar issue in that I manually upsweep them to take off from the carrier but then auto doesn’t actually work.

Maybe I’ve done something wrong, I do have buttons mapped for auto and bombing but the auto setting never moves the wing angle, just the suggested value so I have to manually move them to match.

Edit: the indicator shows auto but doesn’t move the wings at all

Well, in my case, the wings do move but only in manual mode. I can sweep the wings to wear the CADC scheduled position is and then hit AUTO, but it will just stay in the same position I left it at. So in only moved manually, even if it says auto.

Again, the CADC light and wingsweep light are on. And seriously it is as soon as the mission starts. I click "fly" and look immediately at the warning lights and there are CADC and wingsweep...so it's nothing I've done. Then, if I chut down DCS and restart and go to the same mission and click fly...the warnings are gone and the wings work as they should.

From what I gather reading another thread, you need to hit "master reset" to get the CADC to re-engage properly if this is mis-behaving.

Thanks I’ll give that a try. Just tried my Nevada basic refuel mission and all is well, even if I manually sweep as soon as I hit auto they go to auto.

The mission where that doesn’t work in from a carrier.

Both missions are parking hot.

Tried hitting the master reset already. No go.

Oh, you mean the one by your left knee? Ok, will try that. But why are the wings messed up to begin with on mission start in the air, then other times not? That's what makes me think bug

Instant Action cold start mission: I can only get the wings to sweep manually after engaging the handle and clearing Master Reset Light.

Instant Action Take Off from runway mission: Wing sweep already set and works automatically, do not have to do manually.

It's been over a year later and I still notice this even today.  To reiterate, if I start in the air, at random, the wings will have a caution light and will not sweep automatically.  You can swing them manually, and if you hit the reset they will go back to auto.  But if you start the same mission again, the next time the wings may be fine in auto as they should, or they may be borked again.  It happens randomly without explanation so it makes me think it's a bug.  Two example missions where it happens is the instant action  Caucuses F-14B Case I Recovery mission, the instant action NNTR guns only and fox 2s only mission, and the Syria instant action Dances with Wolves mission.  These are just example missions; in truth they also happen in other missions and always appear to be randomly.

Does this warrant a bug report?

IIRC you just have to hit the master reset button and the warning lights should extinguish, and the wings will function as normal.

Ye its easly fixable but, isn't it concerning that sometimes this bug appears and sometimes not, in same instant missions?

Exactly, I totally understand that you hit the master rest and it's fine but why does it happen--and at random--to begin with?  The only explanation I can come up with is that it's a realism thing, where, hey, your CADC failed but you can reboot it.

I also found there was one time that it was fine throughout the mission and then suddenly it happened without my knowing.  I only noticed when I was in a dogfight and the plane didn't want to turn as usual.  So I had to get my eyes off the bandit to look at and hit the button.  By the time I looked back up I had lost the bandit and was now on the defensive.  Grrr...
