According to a very trustworthy website (!?) and the manual using afterburner while dumping fuel is not allowed.

DUMP switch

OFF/DUMP switch. Allows fuel dump when speed brakes are retracted, afterburner off and weight off wheels.

However...

You can't start dumping with AB lit, but the switch probably doesn't go back to off once you lite them while dumping already. There's a reason they disallowed it after all, so it must be technically possible.

I can't try it right now, but I can't remember if the logic behind the switch was working, I _think_ I enabled it with the AB already selected.

...what's the bug? "Not allowed" does not mean "disabled."

I don't consider it a bug, I didn't post it in the bugs section after all. More of a fun "feature". It would be cool though if Jester would respond to this breach of procedure with a wisecrack. ;-).

But if you get really into it, fuel dumping without setting it alight doen't give me a smoke trail like it does in the F/A-18C. Only lighting it up does.

The fuel dump switch circuit is deactivated with weight on wheels or when deploying the speedbrakes. Dumping fuel while the afterburners are lit is discouraged but not impossible according to the natops manual.
