Pilotasso Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 In training they usualy have a pod on the wing wich relays your position, so do others, when you press the trigger your input is registered and seconds later a computer answer will be told to the pilot via radio if thats a kill. A lock wont do. In the old days with rear hest seeking missiles a stable lock would do, suauly at the simulated enemies 6 wich was hard already to obtain and presented a high probability of kill, besides they didnt have the tech for a simulated missile shot live with the real world action. .

Seems to me a lot of unknowns are being tolerated by that type of calculation. A missile usually flies for about 15-20 seconds. What about evasive manouvers, chaffs? It seems to me, all of those stuff are not computed into the simulation.

And I think chaffs and ECM and the tactics and so on are really doing their job. In LOMAC missiles are very easy to evade when you see'em coming. Slaunyeh Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 For the smoke.. i think this is a good point for lomac that seem to be dated previous falcon era, nowadays, there´s a lot of smokeless propelents. And i think SAM wouldn´t looks like a space shuttle going up.
