Freeze for few seconds

Hi,

 

Since the last update, I have regular freeze for a few seconds. There is no particular reasons for that (explosions, for example).

 

I have attached a track file with AI flying a ground attack mission. Freeze start from 51 seconds.

You are not the only one. I have random freezes (1-2 seconds, then back to normal) whenever the games feels like it. I hadn't had one in the past 3 days, but today, I haven't been able to make a full mission without the game freezing at random intervals.

 

 

I had made a full clean install to solve it, and it looked like it kinda worked, but it is now back to the unplayable state.

Yep I have the same issue, but its maybe ram related and page file, if you have 16gb of ram and slow SSD or a HDD those random freezes are related to the latency of the page file vs de ram. So if you have 32gb running at 3200 you will be free of those issue.

Well, if you have an Intel chipset, chances are that you suffer an Intel RST bug, which I also suffer from.

 

If it also happens out of the blue on your desktop, regardless of what you do, google IRST freeze bug.

 

...and yes..it can hang for 10sec and then go on like normal, even in MP.

 

If you suffer it, install IRST 16.2 and none later !

I also have freezes in which the gpu stays at 0%, and after a few seconds everything returns to normal, but it is very annoying. DCS open beta installed on SSD ... and 16 GB of RAM.

same, good luck. I've spent months trying everything, I have no idea whats causing it. I don't play the game so much anymore because of it.

Are you only having those freezes in DCS or do they occasionally happen on Desktop as well ?

 

Read my post above, Intel has a bug in IRST that has not been fixed for..a year at least. It does not affect many machines but some do and google knows the bug.

Hi, few notes about your track :

1) action shown is not that trivial, the AI A10c engage about a hundred ground targets, half of them being modded objects (*476 nttr) placed on a small area so very dense. Not counting the many other friendly coalition's objects.

2) your cpu single thread performance is clearly below DCS min. sys. requ. (your has a score of 1371 pts vs 1491 pts for min. sys. requ.). your gpu also is below min.

 

1) + 2) must be an issue. Your track clearly freezes like you say. But I'm curious to run not your track but your .miz file to see if it also freezes the same or if I can run it fine ? Could you post your .miz file from wich you made the track ?

I've been experiencing random freezes also. Running latest beta. For me, the cause was related to the Nvidia Drivers 430.xx.

 

Rolled back today to 425.31 and this fixed it.

 

Hope it helps someone else.
