MRaza Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Occasionally, I can't pick up any targets on radar, even when I'm scanning at the right altitude and they should be right in front of me. Any idea why? I will post a video link later showing a scenario where this happened to me
lucky-hendrix Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Lots of reasons. What mode were you in ? What was the relative velocity with target? Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
probad Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 9 times out of 10 they don't have wcs flipped forward from standby online at least
MRaza Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 9 times out of 10 they don't have wcs flipped forward from standby online at least we got a winner over here! its odd though because it was the mig28 furball mission and you start out in a hot pit, must've accidentally turned it off? looking back at the footage my IR/TV switch was also off, so i dont know what was up thanks though!

There is definitely some occasional weirdness. Right after I installed the f14 a made a quick mission to spawn me in the air to fly around a bit. For some reason the wings wouldn't sweep back even though they were in auto. There shouldn't have been any damage, just 1 g level flight. Restarted DCS and it worked fine after that :dunno: Also I've had jester not be able to pick up a tu95 on radar like 10 miles away hot or cold, same altitude. Not sure what was the deal there, that was an air spawn mission too. Tried telling him auto range and telling him a specific scan distance. Got nothing.

It's a navigation radar more than anything. There is a rather simple A-A mode to lock on on targets in front of you though. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
