[RESOLVED] Liquid cooling panel misses textures

Recommended Posts

I think it is adressed already, but however:

The liquid cooling panel switch is missing the textures and also the description in the manual.

Just for information:

Forward position is when loaded with Aim-54A

After position is when loaded without aim-54A

Still missing textures, any news?

Hi bud, no, it is still pending on the list, we just need to get to it. Sorry for the wait.

No problem for me, as I have it in my mind what the switch does in what position.

I just guess its hard for new RIO's, especially as there is no info in the manual and its a quite important switch.

Maybe some kind of quick and dirty would be a good quick fix until its done correctly?

Forward AWG+PH cool, middle off, rear AWG cool only

It's not that easy:

Cooling switch fwd: Position when Aim54-A are equipped (cooling for AWG-9 and Aim54)

Cooling switch mdl: Cooling system off

Cooling switch aft: Position when no Aim54-A is loaded (cooling for AWG-9. Aim54-C does not need the extra cooling circuit)

It's not that easy:

It is in DCS, or do they model the difference in cooling between an A and a sealed C?

Btw. A C-phoenix does not necessarily has its own cooling. There were different subvariants of the C (IIRC C, C+, ECCM, the latter two probably identical?) and the "normal" C also needs external cooling. But again, I don't think that difference is modelled in DCS or is it?

It's not, at least not for now:

In regards to the -C being described the same as the -A in the manual, the answer is simple, we didn't know!

The documentation we have describes only the -A but I'll keep it in mind for revisions.

we just talked about it, not sure if we can fit it in for the next update still, we concentrated on some othe graphic issues like LoDs, etc.

It's likely how it may have been in one of the jets we scanned, as the positions of the switches have been scanned as well. Another one comes up always is the misaligned textures of the ICS knob. But these and their misalignment have been scanned, too.

(the missing stencil for the liquid cooling however is not due to scanning, thats just a bug, or more precisely a text we need to redo.)

So, nearly two years later, will this small piece of texture ever find a way into the cockpit?
