Voyager Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 So I just went through the Cold Start training mission using the Assisted Start. I think I got everything turned on, and the INS had time to align, however, once getting the aircraft up and running, I could not get the plane to actually move, even with full AB, it was rather glued to the tarmac. Did I miss a step in all of the procedure? I'd told the ground crew to disconnect air and power, and while I looked for chocking in the ground crew menu, it didn't seem to have anything at that airfield. Am I missing a step here, or does the Cold Start Mission simply prevent one from taxiing away after turn on? Thank you, Harry Voyager
Voyager Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 parking brake? Tried it in both positions. Not sure whether back or forwards it the one that engages the brake. Didn't move. Also, I was given to understand the F-14 brakes can't hold the plane in full military power, much less reheat.

viper2097 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Maybe the axis you use for your brakes are inverted? (Look at the F-14 pedals while operating your own) Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules

Voyager Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Wheel Chocks? That's what I'm suspecting. I tried issuing a ground crew command to remove chocks but the communication menu was empty. I think I'm going to try it on a quick mission tonight and see if I can call for the removal of the wheel chocks on the ramp.
probad Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 why play the guessing game when you can just post a track for diagnosis
Voyager Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 why play the guessing game when you can just post a track for diagnosis Hadn't realized that was a thing, so I went back and ran the mission again. This time it actually worked, so not sure what went wrong the first time. One think I did notice when making quick missions is that by default, the air fields don't seem to provide external air or power. Anyone know how to set that up?

To get ground service the base has to be friendly. Please attach the track next time you have troubles with the aircraft.
