mazex Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) EDIT 2019-05-12: New versions of all templates based on feedback from Thomasew - and added area for "Function Description" on hats - like "Sensor Control" so that "FWD", "AFT" on the directions make sense... EDIT 2019-10-05: Reorganized so that all the latest versions are in this top post. EDIT 2021-10-08: Google migrated the old sites so had to update the links... Note: To get the setup in my F18 template below working for the V2 throttle you need to do some configuration changes in the Virpil Software decribed in my "configuration manual" here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242447 I just got my VPC T-50 Throttle version 2 - and I love it When starting all these complex mappings of buttons for different sims / planes I really like to have them on a layout map that I can save and update when I change them. And then print to have on the desktop. I could not find any templates for the T-50 throttle V2 or the T-50 CM2 Grip. The original ones where in PDF from the manual - and I want to be able to edit the document and then save it... I edited the original VPC PDF:s for v1 with LibreOffice Draw (free open source office solution). The throttle was more "editable" but I realized that I really did a complete refresh of the whole template as there where things with the layout that I did not like... So for anyone that likes to have a file to save and print with the layouts - here are my templates in .odg format (Open Office Draw). Just download Libre Office and edit away with the "Draw" application. I did four versions (Throttle V1 and V2, grip original and CM2) Links below: Throttle maps: Layout map for T-50 Throttle version 1 (non clickable hats) - old version of the template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WOMB2WtZ_httj93j9jJHP1QSRpD6pkgQ/view?usp=drive_web Layout map for T-50 Throttle version 2 (clickable hats): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wyagGK8auCybUj4RlP0Xpzi_z2rmxMNg/view?usp=drive_web Layout map for T-50CM Throttle version 3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VqBI3UB86U0n7ar-3xq0Ln4145tpC6Ur/view?usp=drive_web Joystick Maps: Layout map for T-50 Grip CM2 (clickable hats): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K1_zuPrLjKPw8wmC0q7vQ_NFo4AXx2ru/view?usp=drive_web Layout map for original T-50 Grip (non clickable hats) - old template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oBQYWGyX1ATvNMeCd750Ul32G3uSDhEs/view?usp=drive_web You might need the font Bahnschrift that I don't know if it comes with Windows / Libreoffice or similar: https://www.cufonfonts.com/font/bahnschrift NOTE: For the Throttle maps the numbers on the maps for the buttons that have names on the actual unit are the ones displayed next to the text field. For the other buttons it is the "Windows name" of the button that is displayed in the small white boxes with red text (not the Virpil physical ID of the button). For the sticks all the numbers are the "windows numbers". That is the number that will show up in the DCS config for example as "Button 25" when you click some joystick button - thought that would be good to be able to see if the map is correct... Thomasew Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 (edited) Hi Mazex, Thanks for doing these, .. the layouts are great. Couple of things on the T-50 CM2 Grip:- The push down button on the middle bottom hat switch should be 11 .. not 17 (you actually have this duplicated as the push down on the outer 2 position switch, .. which is the correct 17). Also, you've missed Button 27 as the button on the Z-Axis lever. :) The T-50 CM Grip (original) is mostly incorrect. It only has 19 buttons, and you've referenced 28, .. as with the CM2. Here is the correct numbering. I've put the actual number vs your number .. 1=1 ; 2=2 ; 3=4 ; 4=10 ; 5=16 ; 6=18 ; 7=19 ; 8=20 ; 9=6 ; 10=7 ; 11=8 ; 12=9 ; 13=12 ; 14=13 ; 15=14 ; 16=16 ; 17=right thumb single button (missing on yours) ; 18=26 ; 19=button on Z-Axis (missing on yours) Also, .. the CM1 doesn't have a button on the flip up/flip down trigger .. so, no 28 Hope this helps .. :) Thanks again .. :) Cheers Tom Edited May 12, 2019 by Thomasew He Who Will Not Risk Cannot Win
mazex Posted May 12, 2019 Author Posted May 12, 2019 Thanks a lot for the feedback Thomasew! mazex Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 (edited) And then life happens when you start using stuff :) My current template for DCS F/A-18. It requires mapping the T4-T5-T6 switches to mode 1-3 (removing the B1-B9 for mode 4-5 to make room for that). JadenKatrell Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 @Mazex, any chance of you making one of these for the new MongoosT-50CM Throttle?
mazex Posted August 25, 2019 Author Posted August 25, 2019 @Mazex, any chance of you making one of these for the new MongoosT-50CM Throttle? Do you know if there is a wireframe of the version 3 somehwhere? There was one for the V2 but if there are only color photos of it I would need to do a lot of work to get that into a "clean" wireframe like for the V2. There was one for the V2 but if there are only color photos of it I would need to do a lot of work to get that into a "clean" wireframe like for the V2. Yeah, good luck with that - I was unable to find one anywhere and like you say, it's a lot of work to do one from a photo. For myself, I ended up doing it in parts instead. Johnny Dioxin Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 There is also a side image on the VPC website - pretty sure it's the v3, but might not be - from the mounting solutions page iirc: Been having a go this morning with my trembly, arthritic, spasming fingers and it won't really do the job - but if anyone wants to continue it and see what they can come up with, this is what I've done so far, over recent hours, using a photo and my very limited graphics editing knowledge. Anyone who wants to try to improve these and get them decently wireframe is welcome - I got the ones I want already (I don't use boxes etc cos I use at least two modifiers = 3 assignments per button/switch = potential mayhem!): Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!

mazex Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) Thanks Baur, and here we go - a quick hacked template for the version 3 of the Throttle. I don't have it so I don't know the correct button ID's etc. and as seen it is copy paste of assignments as I have version 2 myself with less switches on the grip. But it is editable so just hack away... It gets a bit crowded as well with all the new switches ;) And yes - as seen this template is not "clean" but my own F18 mappings. Just change to whatever you like As before - you need Libre Office Draw (open source) to open and edit the template yourself. And look at the manual I wrote earlier in this thread to see how to set up the three different modes to use this template (the colour coded stuff with different button assignments depending on the mode switch position) Screenshot: Download link: https://sites.google.com/site/mazexx/files/F18_T-50_Throttle_V3_DCS_v1.1.odg?attredirects=0&d=1 EDIT: version 1.1 already forgot new rotary.... I converted to word but them the templates becomes a complete mess what a pity..... Thanks! You do know that Libre Office (one of the Open Office forks) is open source so it is a free download? Get it from https://www.libreoffice.org/ And Word is not the equivalent product from Microsoft for Open Office Draw. That would be Visio. The reason I did them in Open Office Draw and not Visio or similar is to enable as many as possible to edit them. Many have MS Office, but not with Visio which is not part of the standard version.
