I like to switch between my joysticks (Warthog & FFB2). Is there any way to do this without having to delete and redo the axis assignments? I have the feeling flying with the FFB2 while the Warthog is still assigned is no problem but vice versa its a big problem.

Just unplug the one you are not currently using if they are conflicting.

I have done this many times in the past.

I do exactly that. I use my curiosity virpil setup and TM. I set my axises in DCS and use joystick gremlin for buttons, etc. I have no conflicts after initial setup up. I use virpil for helps and TM for Jets. On my DCS helicopter profiles I just go into DCS controls setup and clear out all the TM pre assigned axis/buttons and vice versa when using Jets. Easy and take minutes.

I use Steam so I guess that's not an option.

It's not a steam thing. It saves the bindings into an html file locally.
