Moki Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hi all, I am new to the community and recently purchased the A-10C and F-18 using my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and rudder pedals. My question is that I am having trouble finding/loading a F-18 profile for my Thrustmaster equipment. I have googled and found results but none seem to be working. I am not 100% familiar on the Targeting SUI software either due to my A-10C having everything programmed. I was using this (see link below) but I am unable to load the profile and I get errors when running the configuration in the SUI. I am also not seeing the files used to load the profile in the DCS control menu. Any assistance would be appreciated. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300626/ Moki
BuzzU Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 You have an F/A-18 profile by default for the Warthog. The same for the A-10C. Buzz
Moki Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 You have an F/A-18 profile by default for the Warthog. The same for the A-10C. Yea I was going through and saw there was a HOTAS profile. Another issue I ran into, it is not picking up that I have my rudder pedals connected and cannot make any commands for my rudder pedals. Any advice?
SacredRaziel Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 But your pedals are working for the a10? Gesendet von meinem SM-G960F mit Tapatalk
Cobra747 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I set mine up as per Chucks Guide. Works well. https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs-f-a-18c-hornet/ :)

So, it doesn't show any rudder pedals up top of page along with the Warthog stick and throttle? This would be in Axis Assignment. What pedals do you have? Buzz

Moki Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Hi all, I was able to find my rudders in the axis assignment part. I am also using the Thrustmaster pedals as well. I ended up manually inputting the controls in. I do have the Target software but unfamiliar with trying to assign each button.
SacredRaziel Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I would suggest not using target. The controls section of dcs allows for proper configuration. Using target in addition to the in game controls might confuse you even more Gesendet von meinem SM-G960F mit Tapatalk
CBStu Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 I am also not happy w/ the Target stuff. Can't figure how to use it so don't. But all the green lights on the TM Warthog throttle are lit. I used to go into Target to turn them off but couldn't find a way to save that so every AM, when I fire up the PC, I had to turn those lights off. About 3-4 weeks ago that quit working at all. So now I unplug the usb cord except when I am not flying. Love the throttle but Target, not so much.
klem Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 You have an F/A-18 profile by default for the Warthog. The same for the A-10C. I'm anticipating my new WH Throttle and FA-18C grip to go on my Virpil stick base. Where can I find the document that tells me what the in-game preset Warthog Throttle bindings are for the FA-18C, switch by switch, sliders etc.? And the new FA-18C Grip? Has anyone made an overlay for the Warthog Throttle base when used with the in-game FA-18C Throttle mappings? Any help appreciated. klem 56 RAF 'Firebirds' ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F mobo, i7 8086A @ 5.0 GHz with Corsair H115i watercooling, Gigabyte 2080Ti GAMING OC 11Gb GPU , 32Gb DDR4 RAM, 500Gb and 256Gb SSD SATA III 6Gb/s + 2TB , Pimax 8k Plus VR, TM Warthog Throttle, TM F18 Grip on Virpil WarBRD base, Windows 10 Home 64bit
BuzzU Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 There isn't one as far as I know. I just push all the buttons in the control menu and see what it's assigned to. It's far from complete and you'll still have to assign some things. Go into Axis assign and make sure you have no double or even triple assignments to the same axis. Also, re-assign the rudder. It's never right for me. Toe brakes will also need to be assigned. As an example, the pitch and roll may also be assigned to the rudder. Just highlight them and hit the clear button. Buzz
klem Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Thanks BuzzU. All the axes etc are sorted with my old X-52 but as you say, I'll just have to open the controls settings, hit a button and see what the default function is. Then I'll have to make an overlay. And maybe ED will give us that before long anyway, I think that's WAGS setup. klem 56 RAF 'Firebirds' ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F mobo, i7 8086A @ 5.0 GHz with Corsair H115i watercooling, Gigabyte 2080Ti GAMING OC 11Gb GPU , 32Gb DDR4 RAM, 500Gb and 256Gb SSD SATA III 6Gb/s + 2TB , Pimax 8k Plus VR, TM Warthog Throttle, TM F18 Grip on Virpil WarBRD base, Windows 10 Home 64bit
Notso Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Hi all. I finally have been able to set up my TM Warthog and TM TFRP pedals (after some axis reassignment trial and error for the pedals) and so far all is working well using the in-game mapping for the F/A-18C. The only exception is I cannot seem to figure out how to map the toe brakes. I've tried to map the left and right brake to each toe pedal press - but nothing happens. The rudder steering works fine, but no brakes. So at the moment, I've had to map a stick button to be able to brake when taxiing around. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! =Panther= Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Under the axis option, assign the left brake to the left pedal and reverse the axis. Otherwise the brakes are on when they shouldn't (not depressed) and off when you depress. You can test with Right Shift + Enter to open the controls overlay (only on monitor, doesn't work in VR).
