golfsierra2 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 2 Questions to @EvilBivol-1 There will be both a download and CD version. For both versions: If you already have Flaming Cliffs, it will add all the 1.2 content. If you don't have Flaming Cliffs, it will upgrade Lock On to 1.2 standard but it will not include the Su-25T and Flaming Cliffs missions and campaigns. Can you please clarify wether BS can be installed over FC or not ? Or do we need then two Lock-On installations, one with BS and one with FC ? Would be nice to have both the Su-25T and the Ka-50 on one installation. And another question (provided BS can be installed over FC): Will online gaming be possible between participants using FC 1.12b and others using FC+BS (1.2) ? kind regards, Raven.... skinnadoor Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 I wish i knew the answer dude...... Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz (cooler master hyper 212 evo CPU FAN), ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO (Intel LGA 1150) motherboard, 16GB PC2400 DDR3 RAM, ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB Video Card, Creative Soundblaster Z Pci-E Sound card, 750W Power supply, MS Force Feedback 2 Joystick, Trackir 5, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround sound.
Weta43 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 As far as the info on the site goes, it can be installed over FC - "If you already have Flaming Cliffs, it will add all the 1.2 content." Assuming that ED don't just run an honesty system ( msgbox = 'do you already have FC?' , response = yes, install afm aircraft & campaigns, response = no, do not install afm planes and capaigns ) then presumably the reason the install will be able to tell if you have FC is that you'll be installing it over the top of FC... I guess though, we'll have to wait and see what the site says the day they make the big July announcement (or BS goes on sale - whichever happens first) PS - it would be a bit surprising if 1.12b & 1.2 could play together online. 1.02 & 1.1x couldn't/can't & if - as it looks like - they've changed the vihkr flight model, the ballistics modelling and the AI, changed the AI fm's, added a new terrain mesh & new terrain - plus new ground units & maybe some infantry to boot - they've got to be getting pretty incompatible. Cheers.
159th_Viper Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 All things considered from an Objective point-of-view, ranging from the possible legal ramifications to all the posts and footage thus far.......In my personal opinion the only reasonable assumption/conclusion/inference that can be drawn is that Black Shark will be an Independant Stand-Alone Helo Simulation. That being the case, I can then only hope that further add-ons to Black Shark will enable one to fly the T-Frog along the KA-50........However, as said, it is all Speculation at this point in time: And as Speculation so many times Breeds Frustration, one can only hope that the Announcement is indeed not long in the making........... zaelu Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Maybe ED will just cut the thin thread that keep them linked to Ubi and get rid of Lock On name. Then they can sold Black Shark as stand alone but including everything. I understood that Ubi has the rights just on the name but not on the technology (remember ED did the A-10c desktop sim build on same engine). And I will download my copy hopefully on day one of the release... hopefully this year :) . Aeroscout Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 well... if BS is stand alone, but includes all the other planes i'm happy. If it's just the Ka-50, i won't be... don't get me wrong, i like the Ka-50, but I like other planes too. (that's how i got into lock on) DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

GGTharos Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 They have already said that a long time ago, and EvilBivol said this as well; and he's the rep for this forum. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

skinnadoor Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 They probly weren't counting on the release date being "spoiled" by an outside source....(if gamepressure is accurate) :pilotfly: I can see how that would rub the rep's the wrong way...... However it's our duty as dedicated users to push them to get this puppy out on the market... i say... release it.... (Even a Demo) patch it later.... it's not going to be perfect no matter how much testing and tweeking is done anyway.:music_whistling: Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz (cooler master hyper 212 evo CPU FAN), ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO (Intel LGA 1150) motherboard, 16GB PC2400 DDR3 RAM, ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB Video Card, Creative Soundblaster Z Pci-E Sound card, 750W Power supply, MS Force Feedback 2 Joystick, Trackir 5, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround sound.

VMFA117_Poko Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 SIMWARE will have this available in their shop. That doesn't mean ED will release it then.
GGTharos Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 So how about them rumours huh? ;) Until you see a release date posted here by ED or an ED rep, just ignore everything else, period. And you can 'push' all you like, but it won't make a difference - it'll be ready when it's ready. VMFA117_Poko Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Why BlackShark submenu disapeared from lockon.ru? (There's so many questions and no answers, even one. Forum is becoming place where you read only speculations these days)
