Harlikwin
Any reviews of this beast. I'd be much more interested in performance and actual PPD specs as those are the classic problems with the previous Pimax headsets. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really). Harlikwin
L@@ks to be a big improvement over Pimax 5k+ That does look significantly better. Not as good as a reverb, but not bad. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really). y905
18 th dec release date, but which year ? , sorry but i dont trust pimax announcements anymore, i think before we see the 8k-x we see the reverb 2 or another high end headset, and the price 1299,- is not really a bargain
FoxTwo
Improved panels are great but the real VR revolution will come once better, inexpensive optics make their way to consumer headsets. Hopefully pimax has resolved some of their overall build quality issues.
Harlikwin
Well as the other guy pointed out, can you actually run it at a normal frame rate in DCS with a 2080ti? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really). wormeaten
That does look significantly better. Not as good as a reverb, but not bad. Even Pimax 8KX will never have a clear picture as Reverb because one major issue Pimax got. Bad design and lenses make Pimax utilizing only 70% of the display what is affecting on lowering PPD. Prove for that is fact that 5K+ is not any clearer than Rift-S or Index and Vive Pro or SO just slightly lover clarity because of lack of full RGB support. Also, XTAL has better lenses which allow almost 95% utilization of the display what is the reason of XTAL superior clarity over Pimax5K+. Also, the tradeoff is lower vertical FOV. Reverb also utilizing almost 100% of the display what is noticeable when you are able to see display edges under certain angles. But this provides the best PPD for those two HMD's. rjetster1
If the 8KX is everything it is being built up to be with that huge FOV, I'm in!
