nscode Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I find it inexcusable that accidents like that happen for airshows. Professional custiomers can judge the C-17's abilities without having to be impressed by irrealistic manoevres. And the general public, well I find a normal approach by an aircraft like C-17 already worthwhile seeing. For flight tests, everyone seems to understand proper preparation and risk management is essential. For airshows, the sky is the limit, but all too often also the ground. Damn 4 people lost their lives like that, what a sorry event! I hear you. But not all aircraft deals are determined by professionals. Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

jpm1 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Sikorsky - X2 Raider™ Prototypes [720p] fast for sure but too hasardous for reco , not enought heavily armed for support and too small for recovery . two or three on a LHD could be useful for transport still . my humble analysis SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AlphaOneSix Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 n6qwYKLg_NY 160th, baby! Anyway, the 160th SOAR does this sort of thing fairly regularly. They coordinate and get approval from local authorities and then they do their urban assault thing right into major cities. They have also done it (that I know of for sure) in Denver, Houston, and Los Angeles. VRx__ou35qI 2

59th_LeFty Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) Just epic:thumbup:. I'm really sorry, they had it coming:music_whistling: Oh, and really sorry for the Falcon-fans if I didn't chose the 'latest' version, I'm no falcon-expert. Had a hesitation between Soufa and Bl.60 ^^ Edited April 25, 2011 by 59th_LeFty [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:

Bucic Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 there's a thread about aviation meetings tricks , that one isn't bad It's an interesting thing from an engineer's/pilot's point of view - the handling qualities of such a bird. The higher the wing is mounted on the fuselage the more lateral stability = the less lateral (roll) maneuverability. In case of this particular aircraft the engines location decreses lateral stability = increases lateral maneuverability and by my rough assessment it may handle as a mid wing or even a low wing (an A/C with the wing on the very bottom of the fuselage). To simplify even more no A/C of similar mass with a wing on top of the fuselage can match its roll agility :) F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
