The airships reached their apex in the 30's when they were flying cross the Atlantic between Germany and US. Then came the downfall in 1937.

ZHUKOVSKY AIR FIELD, Russia – Lt. Col. Douglas Sirk, 81st Fighter Squadron pilot from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, runs the engines on his A-10 Thunderbolt II to move the hydraulic fluid and oil here Aug. 19. The 81st FS has two A-10 static aircraft at the Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon, or MAKS 2011. MAKS is one of the premier events of its type in the world and Department of Defense participation demonstrates the United States commitment to international security, promotes international cooperation, and contributes to U.S. foreign policy objectives. My goodness the Mi-28 is one ugly thing.

But the cockpit frame geometry design is a pure brilliant simplicity (small panes close to pilots heads).

EDIT:

I think that the Alligator display is a bit disappointing compared to the old Ka 50 shows and even compared to the Mi 28.

Man; every time I go to see the Blue Angels I pray for their safety; it is a though job and they make it look easy; those guys are great; in fact all aerobatic teams of the world are awesome.
