jpm1
Don't really know. Found it on a forum in a topic about '99. seems an Harrier shot down over the Kosovo but some say it's a Mig 29 others an Igla (Strela 2) ... i think it's more more likely a ground SAM as the pilot seems not excessively stressed SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CE_Mikemonster
Found on a forum post written by an apparently very well qualified person in this matter: ..The audio was genuine but was from the shootdown of a Royal Navy Sea Harrier on 16 April 1994 by Bosnian Serbs forces. To the uniformed it was universally believed to be current and an example of these so called “undisclosed NATO losses” I remember the audio being played at the NATO press conference and cringing when NATO spokesman made references to "bad B-movie scripts etc". These guys that claimed the audio from Belgrade were fakes didn't quite realise what they actually had in their possession. "Never let civilians meddle in the affairs of the military" is my motto. I recognised the audio immediately as being from the Bosnian-Serb man-portable SAM shoot down of the Royal Navy Sea Harrier FRS.1, serial XZ498, on 16th April 1994 which was flown by Lieutenant Nick Richardson. "Vixen 23" is relayed through his wingman "Vixen 24" to the on-scene ABCCC, and two A-10s already in the area, are dispatched to act as RESCAP. This was a nifty piece of work and hat off to whoever originally collected it in 1994. It fulfilled a purpose. How many individuals wanting to believe in claims of scores of NATO aircraft being shot down actually believed that it was from 1999? Full details of the call signs and map co-ordinates and cover names detailed in the audio are present in his book. Nick Richardson escaped and evaded through Bosnian-Serb lines with the help of an SAS team from the besieged town of Gorazde. A French Special Forces chopper rendezvoused with the pilot and SAS lifting them out after they had egresses the Bosnian-Serb lines. The audio also refers to the coordinates CP368 399. CP is the one-degree quadrangle on the U.S. Operational Navigation Chart of the area containing Gorazde. Lt. Nick Richardson has recently published the book this year. The book is entitled "No Escape Zone" (ISBN 0 316 85314 3) The details of the shoot down in 1994 were first revealed in a book published in the late 1990’s in Cameron Spence's (SAS) "All Necessary Measures" (ISBN-718-14295-0) The paperback is ISBN 0-718-14375-2. This was the claims by individuals who gullibly believe that the audio was from Allied Force: http://www.suc.org/kosovo_crisis/Apr_21/news.html http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=6123 [TJ's post, halfway down] I've actually read the guy's book (many years ago). jpm1
dogfight F16 vs Mirage 2000 Mirage was designed for aerial combat at high altitude .but Mirage can't do SEAD for example , never heard of it myself , it isn't very good in anti-tank neither in opposition of the F-16 which can fire Mavericks SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
