Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 You're alone then, jpm1. YouTube and DailyMotion don't [and never will] replace flight. The roar, the wind in your hair, the sun in your eys, the speed... YouTube videos will only surpass 'the real thing' when flight simulators surpass flying, and it's still a long way to go as far as I'm concerned. And there's also the fact the national aerobatic teams are good advertisement for the Air Force, Army or Navy concerned, and help making people enlist.

Airway Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 This is what you loose your wings for. These two pilots were grounded, because they flew over too low.
mvsgas Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 TORO2222 posted this in the FreeFalcon forums. Switzerland F-18 video part one of six http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fSdJU5vpIE To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Vekkinho Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 hitman, as far as I know, the Sikorsky company we're talking about was founded in the US, and by a Ukranian (at that time, Russian). Didn't you wanna say "at that time Soviet"?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 No, Sikorsky was born in Kiev in 1889 - pre-revolution, still Russian Empire, so it's still "at that time Russian" :)
zakobi Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Isn't there something with each Tu-160 unique from each other due to production problems or something similar? Anyways a nice picture.
Pilotasso Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 The writing behind the cockpit seem to be different on all of them .
Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 These are names. The one presented at MAKS 2009, for example, was No. 10 "Nikolay Kuznetsov".
Griffin Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Russian jets bomb ice-clogged rivers A total of 15 Sukhoi fighter planes and Mi-8 combat helicopters have been deployed to bomb ice blocking rivers in Siberia and far Eastern regions to prevent flooding, defence spokesman Vladimir Drik told the state-run Ria Nowosti news agency Wednesday.http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/315634,russian-jets-bomb-ice-clogged-rivers.html
GGTharos Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Now that's a good use of armament! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

EtherealN Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Russia also uses its air force to shoot rain-inducing chemicals into clouds, so that the capital is sun-drenched during important holidays. EtherealN Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 these are just my opinions. true today, toyotas manufactured in the us by americans for americans is still a japanese company. You may want to read up on Sikorsky then: those american-made Toyotas are produced in plants owned by Japanese, so there it's fair to say "Japanese car" in at least some sense. With Sikorsky, he grew up in the Russian Empire, made a few aircraft, emigrated to the USA, and only as a naturalized citizen of the united states did he found the Sikorsky company with american investment money, american staff, american workers, for american clients... The only thing that's non-american about Sikorsky aircraft is that one of the people involved was not born in the USA. Ergo: Sikorsky is american. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

EtherealN Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 So all the american technicians, draftsmen and engineers who worked at sikorsky get no credit and respect? :P And this kind of respect is a completely different type of thing as to whether there is anything new with a russian aircraft manufacturer getting to make a tender for an american military equipment procurement.
