SmoglessPanic Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I'm in love. I'm so happy it was released early, just having the Viper and being able to fly it and learn it is so much fun. I look forward to getting home and flying around in it, big THANKS to ED for releasing it early. Yea there are some kinks but honestly I know they will be dealt with soon so they don't bother me. Learning my favorite bird and being able to fly it far outweighs anything that needs to be tweaked at this point. THANKS TO EVERYONE AT ED FOR THIS WONDERFUL MODULE!!:thumbup::thumbup:
ED Team Wags Posted October 7, 2019 ED Team Posted October 7, 2019 I'm going to post this again from another thread: --- Thank you for the kind words. Watching some Youtube videos this morning, it seems much of the heartburn comes from the lack of damage model, external lights, and WIP and skin textures. All these tasks are on a single person and he was unable to complete all these tasks and meet our announced early Autumn release date. So, we could either release without these features complete and get complaints or miss our stated release widow and get complaints. In the end, we went with the former and stand by that. While we of course wanted to and pushed for all of these, it was not in the cards. However, they are all very high priority items to be addressed as soon as possible. In the meantime, we firmly believe that even this early version of the Viper provides a lot of enjoyment and plenty for players to learn and get their heads around. VampireNZ Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I would like to echo the positive comments and appreciation in the previous posts! It is great to be able to finally sit in the Viper and appreciate it in VR in DCS World. There is plenty to do flying-wise with the existing release to keep yourself busy and have absolutely no complaints or concerns regarding 'too early'. You don't go straight to full-functionality on day one of converting onto a new military aircraft anyway, hell the first 'flight' is just taxiing around the ground lol. More features will come in time, and in the meantime I will continue to enjoy just being in the jet. Thanks again for all your hard work ED! Vampire

Thanks Great post and thank you for the explanation. It all makes sense when you put it like that and hopefully this will ease some of the "heartburn" during these early stages. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"

HayMak3r Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Make no mistake! This is a great module. I would hope everybody can continue to enjoy it, and realize that it is early access.. It has still been very fun to enjoy and start learning. Can't wait for additional fixes and features to become available! Death Angel Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I am very glad ED released as early as possible F-16 module. This gives opportunity to fly plane which many people love. When AV-8B Harrier was released as early access I bought it right away and enjoyed every moment of flying it. I do not want even imagine that I could have lost 2 years of joy if ED would not have released it back then, and who knows when it will be completed. The same is with F-16. Though many systems are not complete I still enjoy a lot of flying it. My buddy flies DCS planes too and he always complains about not finished modules. I multiple times asked why he buys unfinished planes. ED does not hide this fact at all, but he can not give me answer. It seems that quite a few people want to have excuse to whine and ED satisfies this need too, he-he.
