The delay should probably be even longer than that. Pilots talk about up to 3 second delay for the missile launch:

That's also the account of an F-15 pilot. While the firing delay MAY be the same in both airframes, I wouldn't bring that up as a source for the Viper.

WRB doesn't have delay to launch missiles

 

When firing a AA missiles, just pressing the WRB is firing the missile, instead of having a little delay with the button pressed before the missile is released.
