I just happened to notice in the CoreMods/aircraft folder there are a lot of planes listed that I don't own yet, but are taking up a lot of disk space (see attachment). I assume if I delete those folders, they will just get downloaded again on the next update.

I only own Ajs37, F-16C, F/A-18C, and Ka-50. There are 19 plane directories and 1 ChinaAssetPack (not sure what that is).

Can this be fixed? Thanks!

That everything but the cockpits and stuff needed to fly the aircraft.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Those are usually AI planes used in DCS missions and campaigns; Asset Packs are usually useful for missions and campaigns that require those assets (e.g., ships, tanks, other vehicles, etc, etc)

These files are there, so you can use those planes in all missions as AI, fight against them in MP etc. They are needed for the game to function properly.

I really don't understand why this comes up as often as it does. Whether you own it or not it's still in the game just like every other object. Also disk space is so absurdly cheap why does it matter?

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't realize the "full" plane was needed for an AI version. I was thinking those were modules that somehow were installed when not needed so just wanted to double check.

Ok, back to learning the Viper!
