Yosteff Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Ok Had to reinstall DCS beta. Now after remapping all my control for the F14, I can't get the PLM and Radar VSL High and LOW to work. When I hit the PLM button instead of having the PIPER to sweep in the hud, I have nothing in the HUD and a strait line showing in the radar screen.. I can hear the button working in the plane. Need help...
r4y30n Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 I think you may have PLM and PAL confused. PLM will lock a target at or near the ADL cross and because of that the radar beam is fixed straight ahead, whereas PAL does the automatic search pattern. What issue are you having with VSL modes?
IronMike Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Could also be due to gun selected? PAL and VSL sweeping diamond will show only in SW, SP and PH. It still works in gun, but the diamond does not show (this is correct btw). GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Although myself and another on this forum have experienced the missing diamond from VSL Hi/Lo & PAL on a few occasions. Have not found a way to reproduce it yet. You hear the aim9 growl but no diamond in those ACM modes. QuiGon Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 that confused the hell out of me lol, why does this happen? lack of processing power?? No, it's because in gun mode, both symbols ('+' and diamond) are already needed to display gun solutions. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

QuiGon Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 oh, what does the diamond denote? It's described in the manual: http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/weapons.html#m-61-vulcan-six-barreled-gatling-cannon The real-time gunsight mode (RTGS) is the standard gun mode when in the air-to-air mode with the gun selected. In RTGS the WCS computes the bullet trajectory and displays the location the bullets will pass through at 1,000 and 2,000 feet, if no target data is available from the WCS. The diamond representing bullet location at 1,000 feet and the pipper representing the bullet location at 2,000 feet. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Moafuleum Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 The diamond representing bullet location at 1,000 feet and the pipper representing the bullet location at 2,000 feet. Strange, shouldn't it be the other way around? Unless the bullets gain altitude after 1000 feet :D
draconus Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Strange, shouldn't it be the other way around? Unless the bullets gain altitude after 1000 feet :D Yes. The manual has it swapped. The in-game behavior is correct. Pipper @1K, diamond @2K. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
