Been away from the viper for a bit and am struggling with my countermeasures setup.

I enter list>7 to change CMDS. Prg is selected and i change settings to 1 for Sequence qty for chaff and flare but when i then hit chaff/flare dispense on the hotas i get a continual dispense until they are exhausted.

Am i doing this wrong? Has the keybind to begin dispensing a program changed with the updates?

Really can't be bothered watchin another YT video to find out so hoping someone can enlighten me.

Cheers

Button hasn't changed. Make sure you're set to manual. CMDS switch forward to dispense manual program.

Thanks Darcy :), haven't tried yet but seems that will be the issue. I was using the dispense command instead of CMDS keybinds. Have now set these correctly to a hat switch.

I don't remember the exact name of it, but I think that the Dispense key is for the wall slap switch program, which is not configurable from inside the cockpit and is indeed a continuous release of a lot of chaff and flares. You got the manual programs running correctly with the CMS key now, but just FYI.

On initial release the slap switch must have been linked to the presets as i have been using that until now. All good now though and working as intended. Very pleased with it

Isn’t the Slap Switch “Program 5” ?

It is in the presents in the lua and is modifiable through the lua, but AFAIK it's not editable through the DED. The DED can edit MAN 1-4.

Incorrect, you actually can edit program 5 through the DED just like programs 1-4 :)

The Falcon BMS manual says that there is actually a program 6 which is always mapped to CSM left. Which would make sense so that you can have two programs online at all times like in the Hornet.

In the meantime I have just mapped CMS left to Slap Switch Countermeasures, which is always program 5.

Yeah, I'm curious about this as well. It seems a bit odd that CMS left is there, but not assigned to any function.
