[MISSING TRACK FILE] IFF in TWS

I've noticed that when I engage TWS all the non friendly contacts switch to yellow unknown contacts even though my aircraft and 8+ other link 16 aircraft are all painting them including the AWACS.

IFF interrogating them doesn't ID them as hostile either they remain unknown, again despite being IFF'd by others.

 

I also noticed that if I switch back to RWS sometimes all the hostile contacts will revert to RED hostile but if I go into TWS again they all switch back to yellow unknowns.

Is anyone else seeing this, or having other IFF issues, specifically when in TWS?

I can IFF in TWS, with SCS Depress, while the TDC is over the target. Just hovering the TDC over the target won't do it (like it works in LTWS) and pressing SCS Depress over empty space won't interrogate the L&S. You specifically need to hit SCS Depress over the ranked contact. I don't know if that is correct behavior or if it supposed to work like in LTWS.

 

So when I have Link 16 contributors, IFF works fine, as long as I do a "manual" IFF interrogation.

I've been having the same problems on BlueFlag. Tried manual IFF interrogation but HAFU remains uknown. Unable to IFF through SA page as well.

Yeah, I was referring to SP. Haven't had a chance to try MP yet.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I really think the TDC needs to be over the contact for you to IFF it. Regardless with SCS depress it should still change on the radar scope for the L&S target.

Was just playing a singleplayer combat mission and had zero success with IFF of any aircraft on my screen. I was using manual SCS too. So either we're all doing somethign wrong or there's another bug.

This thread deserves a bump. The IFF in TWS is no way working like whats been showed in Matt's video. Oddly its working if it switched to RWS. Hope it get dev attention and finally get fixed. Already seen quite alot of TKs in PvP.

It only works properly in Single Player (shakes fist) which is why it looks like it works in Matts video, ED don't do a great job at MP testing.

 

We need people to start submitting tracks to gain some attention from the dev team on this chaps!

I don't think we need give them track. Its easy to reproduce. Just try it on a public server like yours 104th or GS then they'd see it themself. How hard can it be ?

That's not how things work with Eagle Dynamics :)

 

If you want something fixed, you have to get the tracks and submit them yourself.
