Hardcard Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 J spots at Bandar Abbas airbase (north, inside hangars) seem to be inadequate for some aircraft (fulcrum, frogfoot, etc.) The hangars are walled, leaving only minimal room for turning... problem is that some aircraft are incapable of performing tight turns while taxiing (such as the fulcrum and the frogfoot). This is how close the wall is on spawn: This is the required turn: This is what the plane is capable of: Antenna gone: Aircraft quantum tunneling: Seems to me that those walls need to go... AeriaGloria Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 You can press the lock button for high gain NWS in MiG-29 just FYI Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Hardcard Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) @BIGNEWY Alright, thanks for telling me. Is there any public list of reported issues we can check before reporting stuff? @AeriaGloria What do you mean by "lock button"? The brake lock? If you mean the NWS button, that doesn't seem to do anything when pressed, unlike the F15C... unless it's only meant to enable/disable NWS, like the flanker's NWS switch. EDIT: Alright, the NWS button does work...but only when flaps are up!!! Edited December 21, 2019 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AeriaGloria Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 The same button you use for radar or EOS lock. Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Hardcard Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 @AeriaGloria Thanks for your input, the problem was that I always taxi with flaps down, so NWS doesn't work. The lock button seems to do the same as the NWS button... as long as flaps are up! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AeriaGloria Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Never realized there was a NWS keybind. Yes flaps must be up to activate the HIGH gain mode NWS. It came just after the PFM was added so not super well known. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3682826&postcount=34 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
draconus Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Tested last night @latest beta. No problems with either Frogfoot or Fulcrum to taxi out & make the turn. Flaps should be deployed on the runway. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Hardcard Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) @draconus Using high gain NWS makes that tight turn possible on the fulcrum, but it's still pretty tight, those walls are still a pointless obstacle. On the frogfoot that turn is even tighter, since the plane doesn't have high gain NWS like the fulcrum does (also, the nosewheel on that thing is easily broken in tight turns). Making the turn on the frogfoot is possible, sure, but the problem shifts to the interior wingtip getting stuck on the hangar while making the turn... like I said, those walls are a pointless obstacle that make an easy thing hard. draconus Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 ... like I said, those walls are a pointless obstacle that make an easy thing hard. https://goo.gl/maps/ZJepNvdv2174RKLT8 These walls are there IRL. No reason to remove them and they're not pointless. You can't place bigger aircraft there for a reason. Move slowly, start turning only after wingtip points at the door frame. There's no problem or bug here. If you want easy way - start elsewhere. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
71st_AH Rob Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 IRL they also have tugs, which maybe we will get with the new supercarrier module.
