BaD CrC Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 In the missions we are flying, we sometimes have to escort convoy and clear the path ahead of them from, for example, IEDs. If the first vehicle of the convoy is blown up by an IED, the second behind will come close enough to be blown up by the explosion of the first vehicle. Then the third vehicle will come too close and be blown up by the explosion of the second vehicle....until you reach the last vehicle. So unless someone is jumping into a game commander or tactical commander position and manually steer away the vehicles from the ones burning, a single lost vehicle in a convoy will trigger a domino effect that will kill the entire convoy without any way through AI to avoid it. It would be nice to be able to set a safety distance between vehicles on the road and not having them ended up bumper to bumper waiting to be blown up. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

Did you - as a workaround - try out Waypoint Actions like "Disperse under fire" with only 1 second delay? They might then go into the fields if they were on a street? BaD CrC Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 Will try that. I don't know if one second is enough for them to disperse far enough from the blast. Thanks for the suggestion. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Flappie Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 I strongly agree about this annoying issue in need of a cure: I'm currently in the last part of the Combined Arms official campaign, and I've seen this a lot, among other clumsy AI behaviors. It should be natural for an AI vehicle to flee the ticking bomb standing right in front of it. On holiday
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 9, 2020 ED Team Posted January 9, 2020 Some scenarios require units to stay in formation, which is why the disperse under fire should be used if you want your units to spread out once engaged. Thanks I think so too, since currently we have two choices available, which is good! Visit https://www.viggen.training ...Viggen... what more can you ask for? my computer: AMD Ryzen 5600G 4.4 GHz | NVIDIA RTX 3080 10GB | 32 GB 3.2 GHz DDR4 DUAL | SSD 980 256 GB SYS + SSD 2TB DCS | TM Warthog Stick + Throttle + TRP | Rift CV1
