fitness88 Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 If at some later date I want to move it again how would I do that because I don't see properties/location option available anymore since I moved it.

Strange .. the procedure is the same as the first time .. perhaps you moved the folder manually (by dragging it on windows file explorer), instead of using the location tab? Burger Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 As a non-technical person forever on the lookout for simple tweaks, I'm curious why you would do this - is it just to save space on the original drive? I have two SSD drives with only Windows & DCS on one & "everything else" (X-plane etc) on the other. I've since read that it is better to have Windows & DCS on separate drives, but I really don't want to uninstall/re-install everything. So would I gain anything by just moving the DCS Saved Games folder to the other drive? (I have plenty of free space on both.) Thanks.

Yes I was running out of SSD space on my c: drive, just recently picked up a 2T SSD...
Rudel_chw Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Not at my PC at the moment, but will check it soon and get back. OK, I moved my Saved Games ("Juegos Guardados" on my spanish Windows) folder from the C to the G drive .. and it still shows the Location (Ubicación) Tab: I dont know what might have happened on your case .. the Saved Games is a Windows special folder and that's why it has to be relocated only by means of the location tab. I dont know how to fix this situation as it has never happened to me, but you might want to try this tutorial to restore the default location of the folder: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/23504-restore-default-location-personal-folders-windows-10-a.html Remember to backup the folder's content first, just in case :) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

The problem isn't that all is working ok using a monitor, my saved games preferences are intact, it's the DCS Configuration Manager won't open in VR and when I uninstalled DCS Configuration Manager I still couldn't launch in VR. When I tried to reinstall DCS Configuration Manager a pop-up said I have to contact the software owner. I did a repair of DCS no help there. Edited January 12, 2020 by fitness88

Sorry, but I don't really understand .. saved games is a single folder, how could it have been moved to two separate locations? I did a repair of DCS no help there. The repair utility is a very powerful tool, but it only touches the program’s files .. it wont touch your user files at saved games. fitness88 Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks all for your assistance. When I changed location of the saved games folder it didn't get done properly. I deleted it and started again with a copy of the saved games folder, this time it did relocate as you described above. I'll do some testing and hope for the best...thanks again.
Baco Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Yeah I dont get the "location" folder...weird.. well I´ll keep digging...
Rudel_chw Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) Yeah I dont get the "location" folder...weird.. well I´ll keep digging... Most likely, you already moved the "Saved Games" folder using regular Windows drag and drop, instead of using the "Location" tab. "Saved Games" is a special windows folder, and it seems that it loses its special tabs when moved by regular Windows file management. Sorry, I don't know how to fix it, as it's never happened to me.
