So I searched the forum for tanker speed change after AAR transfer completes but did not find anything valid, I thought of putting this forward in case this is not something covered.

 

Maybe this isn't even concerning KC-130 vs. F-18C but that is where I see the problem.

 

When you watch this track from the F2 on the tanker, you will see its initial speed after READY PRE-CONTACT will go from 181 to 193 - that's not too big of an issue, however, as soon as the tanker calls TRANSFER COMPLETE, it decelerates even before I get the chance to hear DISCONNECT from him.

 

At present, this isn't a huge issue, but I am thinking, once the basket physics gets to DCS, the tanker will kill anybody who completes AAR.

 

Granted, my driving skills at the basket are not the smoothest and greatest, but I replicated that throughout other missions and thought of making this short track to demonstrate.

Just to add similar exp. but with il78m and mirage 2000c.

 

When refueling is complete the basket immediately goes back to initial status : deployed instead of retracted (so it passes through windscreen and cockpit before you can react).

Yes I think this is a side effect of the current code for A2A refuelling.

 

We do have a feature request internally for improved tanker experience but I have nothing to share about it currently.

Thanks for the info. I guess that would be part of the new basket and hose physics Wags once mentioned.

As I already said, not a biggie right now.

Unless this changed in one of the last updates, the C-130 seemed OK.

 

I set it up at 8000 ft and 300 kts (though it actually flies at 270 kts?). It seems fairly consistent - no large speed changes.

 

In the Tomcat, it doesn't seem to detect tanks full. Is this right? I had to detach - it just sat there as if I was still taking fuel. I'd have expected a "transfer complete" call and the tanker to disconnect.
