jools Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 weird, i see it available still, and the original CM is not even on the list Yes that's what I'm saying. I'm after the original CM :) I didn't see anything about it being discontinued it only came out last year and it was restocked last month. :(
VpR81 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 AFAIK, Virpil stated that they won´t produce the original CM50 anymore and the restock in, i think, November 2019 was the last chance to get some of them. Thanks, that’s a shame the original looks so much better to me in looks and in functionality
zcaa0g Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I wouldn't get a throttle that isn't being made any more. Replacing certain parts won't be easily achievable unless its standard items like Hall sensors and things along those lines. I'm not a fan of the new throttle in terms of looks or capability, but to each their own I guess.
VpR81 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 True. But the CM2 is said to be great as well, there is a promising VKB in the pipe and there is the also reasonable TM throttle, so you still got high quality options. Aviators Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 but the VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle has fewer keys and fewer features than the old one? Or maybe a new product will be released soon? L'importante non è stabilire se uno ha paura o meno, è saper convivere con la propria paura e non farsi condizionare dalla stessa. Ecco, il coraggio è questo, altrimenti non è più coraggio ma incoscienza.
AnarchyZG Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 (edited) If you ask me, they should do a "lite" or "core HOTAS" version of the throttle with further reduced feature set to make it more affordable. As it is the throttle is part throttle part physical cockpit. My wish: Grip - keep it as it is, maybe even a single axis if it would drive the price down significantly Base - max 4-6 buttons (nws, jettison, master arm, em con...whatever you feel would benefit from tactile feedback and is used relatively frequently) - max 3-4 on-off-on momentary switches (hint: gear, flaps, brakes) - optionally a single additional axis (for pitch trim or flaps or whatever) it would make it more compact, and hopefully bring the price down. The important stuff is on the grip anyway. Edited February 6, 2020 by AnarchyZG [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] MATRIC developer Check out MATRIC and forget about keyboard shortcuts
tintifaxl Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 ... But the CM2 is said to be great as well ... I couldn't find any reviews of the unit. Could you share a link or two? Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.

Yeah I believe they are working on dedicated button panelsl, probably a bit more expensive all together, but with more functions in total. https://virpil.com/en/blog/173-control-panel-competition-results?tmpl=component i7 8700k @ 4.7, 32GB 2900Mhz, 1080ti, CV1 Virpil MT-50\Delta, MFG Crosswind, Warthog Throttle, Virptil Mongoost-50 throttle.
