Squid_DK Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I plan on getting at least one of the CH MFP's, best thing is they can be used for anything and they are cheaper overhere than the joystick and throttle. 531-Ghost Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Thank you for FINALLY getting the name right Danish Squid! Gentlemen, it's an MFP as in, panel. The CH MFP can be used in or for any Windows application. It can perform up to ohhhh a buttload of functions. Easy to program too. Each button can be placed where you want them on the clear portion of the panel. They'll keep whatever you've programmed to them where ever you move the button to. Standard CH MFP has 25 physical buttons. The MFP has a Green Mode and a Red Mode which can be selected on the fly with the two buttons and their associated colored LEDs in the top right corner of the unit. These modes are available as STANDARD. Meaning no need to implement modes in your Control Manager. Now you have 50 button positions. Now lets assign "shifted" functions to each of the buttons in both Red and Green mode. Now you have 100 button positions. BUT WAIT THAT"S NOT ENOUGH! Lets then turn on the CMS mode control in the Control Manager so we have FOUR Control Manager modes EACH with a Green mode and a Red mode that are both programmed with "shifted" functions. Now you have 400 button positions. Not enough you say.... well fine. Extended CH MFP has 50 physical buttons. Time to bust out that slide ruler... double the numbers of the Standard MFP at each bump. Soooo..... Green and Red modes gives you 100. "Shifted" functions in Green and Red mode gives you 200. Then with the Control Manager CMS modes you have hit 400 button positions. The CH MFP is no different than any other CH USB controller in the Control Manager. If you can do it to a button on a Combatstick then you can do it to a button on the MFP. So what does that mean? Well let me give you a quick hit list..... Joystick Buttons Joystick Axis Mouse Buttons Mouse Axis Keyboard Keys Keyboard Macros Combinations of ANY of the above Want to move your mouse to a certain location with one press of a button? No Problem Want to add a single count to an axis in one direction or another? No Problem Want to press a button just once and have It navigate through your Comm Commands for you? No Problem :joystick:
leafer Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Wow. The Saitek will give CH MFP a run for its money. I like the fact that you can display gauges and MFD with Saitek LCD; what CH should have done. I have never wanted to own anything from Saitek but this looks like a must have. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Cheers Staffan Thats the beauty of the MFP, I use mine for all sorts of gaming - flight sims, racing sims, FPS and RTS.
Vekkinho Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I really got interested in this new Saitek LCD it looks good and I hope will be functional enough for us with FC and BS. It says the price will hit cca 100$ and I tried googling for it but I had no results. Can anyone post any links on Saitek's newest gadget?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Also moved home in the last year and finally got a room just to fill with my computer gear so now I just need to upgrade my PC for DCS
zorlac Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Let's suppose it will be possible to export the data of the ABRIS system. Could you use a touchscreen to display the data? Highly doubtful there will be any new development for TouchBuddy in the near future with relation to DCS:BS (or anything else to be honest)... I havent looked at the code since March/April this year, and have no real yearning to start agin.
