F2 with 4 planes and Right Alt + J does not work anymore

Sometime ago, I noticed that I can no longer jump into another plane or jet

using the F2 key. Does not matter if I make them a Client or High.

 

 

It was so useful to not have to restart a mission if I bailed out or crashed, I could

just jump into another aircraft.

 

 

Could someone please tell me if this has been done away with

or what is going on with this old function.

Ralt+J should work for switching to another aircraft, I just tested it seemed ok.

Hello BigNewy, I appreciate the help very much.

 

Making a trk file wont really help as You cant see what I am trying to do

as in pressing the F2 key and how it only shows just my plane and no others

in my 4 plane group. I used to be able to hit pause for My plane and then

hit F2 and look at other planes in My group to see what they were doing.

 

now just my Player plane shows up and the other three do not in F2 view.

 

Hitting right alt plus J does not work as I dont see any other planes, although

I can fly around and still see them. I know My F2 key works as I can to into

controls and press it and it shows up and I can even make a switch on warthog

throttle do the command as well.

 

This has been happening not just with 2.5.6, but also in the later stages of 2.5.5

 

 

Doing a dcs repair did not change anything.

 

with the P51 when I pause at train, I am hitting F1 F2 and F3 over and over.

Here is a you tube video I made a long time ago.

 

Start at 5:20 and when I crash, I just hit F2 and then right alt + J and right

away I am in one of my other three planes.

This is very odd, and I am unable to reproduce still.

 

Can I ask you to follow my crash advice below.

 

this will do a cleanup and repair and also backup your dcs folder in saved games and allow dcs to create a new one.

 

Let me know if you see a difference.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but are you sure you havn't forbidden external views for other planes? Can you see them on the F10 map?

 

If no, you have changed your F10 options to your aircraft only

You are right Shadow KT, I do not see My planes in F10 just the Map

 

I did a reset of th keyboard default category and it did not change the F2 not working.

 

 

I do not know where to look to find any more info about My plane view only except LCtrl + F2

 

 

NS430 is the only mod but I thought I would let You know.

 

I downloaded the cleanup script but it does not seem to work for me.

 

I am running the dcs updater utility by Skatezilla and have done a repair and the

log files say nothing changed.

I did a cleanup and repair using skatezilla as when I pressed left shift and right clicked

I don't know if its related but since the latest 2.5.6 patch, I can't use any of the F keys on the comm menu (they will just work to switch views even if the comm menu is up). I can still use the mouse on the comm menu though as a work around. But there is some "focus" bug, maybe related to this.

2.5.5.41926 the F2 and switching planes works fine.

I have DCS world open beta on two HD's and dcs on one HD.

 

Here is a trk of it working today that I made. just shows being able to switch planes.

 

So to me, this means that the problem is the newest beta version !

 

 

I really appreciate so much, all of the time and effort that You all have put in to help

me, but at least I know now that I can play older dcs versions until this is fixed.

Last night because of better graphics in 2.5.6 I wanted to test out some anti ship missiles with the F18

and only did one plane as I knew I could not use F2 and Rt alt + to get into another plane, but after

awhile, I decided to do the Blue nose bastard or what ever its called campaign, and instead of the mustang on the ground

I saw planes flying around. neither F1 nor F3 would show Me on the ground ready to take off to follow 1st mission.

 

When that happened, I hit F2 and it showed me different planes. I hit rt alt + and I was in a Spitfire !!!!

 

Was not able to play the campaign, but F2 and rt alt + DID WORK !!

 

 

I think this is more crazy as time goes by.

F2 works in older dcs.trk

Know how to setup your game

 

Main menu / Options/ Gameplay / F10 map options / set to all,

because your mission and mine not force F2 view as usable

(+And you must own P51D for your latest track to take control, I not own that; I gave you the free su-25T)

You must know one DCS bug: Game wide settings overriden by track replay.

You can ony change after my track the external views all setting of my track, by another track.

It does not work by entering main menu /options.

This is true to mine "avionics language=english" setting and so on

 

If you want to use your clicked game wide settings: start freshly DCS.

I have seen similar behavior ... using F6 key to view the selected missile in F10 AWACS view doesn't seem to work, it goes to some other missile, I'm busy and not sure yet so I just mention now, but I'll open appropriate new thread when I get to this and test it again.

Well, you said it yourself... You can't see planes on F10, means you have changed your F10 options...

 

Change those settings from the options or in the mission editor, but as it happens on most missions for you... I would guess you have it changed in the options

 

Settings -> Gameplay -> F10 View Options

 

In the mission editor, above the green arrow on the left, click the checkmark -> click on the F10 View Options on the right, click ALL
