I love the Hip but -because it was so easy to shoot down- didn't use it that much.

However I took it into action last night (2/4/20) and not expecting anything, noticed some changes. It doesn't VRS so 'hard' but doesn't like being manoeuvered quite so vigorously. Feels more forgiving I think.

And, with-out doubt it now takes punishment considerably better! Those who have used in a 'danger areas' know to watch for ANY threat as a well-aimed stone could bring it down. On the experience of yesterday it is more as it should be I think. I was hit by 3 good bursts from a BTR and it was only the last of those that started to cause issues. Hallelujah! We can get stuck in!:pilotfly:

I did notice 'issues' with the command of certain weapons and flare dispensors -not looked at this yet but I had issues here that weren't there before.

All-in-all, I like what I saw so far!

BTW one of my squad collegues noticed some handling changes to his Ka-50 also -but I can't comment there.

Gladly, the patch notes have never mentioned every single fix and change released ;)

Well yes, admittedly. But I OTOH kind of like the surprises too...

That is great news! the damage model of the Mi-8 has been under the looking glass for a while now https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=226657

Glad to see that tweaks are coming.

BST was never very outspoken. During the lifetime we rarely get any hints about changes to their modules.

Their development cycle is even more so, behind closed doors. (as we can clearly see withthe Mi-24)

Most of their releases has been more or less complete surprises :p

Just had another hour messing about in the Mi-8, and against troops -which easily shot you down with even only 1 burst from an AK- you can now stand and fight (only for so long though!) and I hovered and blazed away with my heavy door gun until the platoon shot me down -but not until I'd killed about 3-4 of them -that was about 30 secs of hovering action. I'd say that was about right considering I was about 1/2km away.

Never would have got away with this before. Nice!

Sounds good, I'll have to try that myself. Maybe it's not an Mi-8 change? Perhaps the ridiculous accuracy of the soldiers just got toned down a bit?

That might be true, but I know from much experience that just a few hits caused death before, whereas now you can take far more before getting clobbered.

Broken

Hi,

BIGNEWY said like a week ago about the topic:

The team have this reported, and was ready, however we found another issue that needed to be merged before we could fix this one.

I hope it will be ready for the next patch.

Thanks

Fingers cross, wouldn't it be great that we get this patched by this Friday?

*We have around 4 different posts about the same topic :]. Seems that ED is listening
