Bare Metal RoughMey Redo

Bought the 21 yesterday, and it's a blast to fly. Was hoping there was paint kit for it. Doesn't appear to be one. Too bad. I decided to at least do a quick hack job of the bare Metal RoughMets so that the material actually looks like metal instead of grey paint.

Lovely. Although I appreciate Rudel's work on those few rough-met default NM finish skins, I always considered them to be a little bit too dark. Yours looks nicer in my opinion.

 

Will it be available for download even in this blank version?

@joey45, The only template (paint kit) I could find was a user-made version. I would greatly appreciate if someone could point me to a copy of the original one....it was available for a time, but no longer.

Rick, I think there were some minor changes to the external model done long after the original template release. Certainly some big mapping changes, rendering all previous custom skins not compatible, that's what I remember clearly.

 

If I recall correctly, that old template didn't even include roughmet maps, as it was done in DCS 1.5.x era. So even if you find it, I suppose it won't be very useful for you anyway. I guess that was the reason why devs removed it from the forum.

ahhhh......I see.....well no worries about teh RoughMet maps. I make them from what exists anyway. So that shouldn't be a problem.

 

That makes sense as to why it's not around at all!

That's because they were created during version 2.1.x days. ED is continuously changing graphics code. It's a pain to keep up.
