Martin2487 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Link-16 integration is a real game changer. I would appreciate if ED published a roadmap. Here is a list of what from my point of view is missing in the game, I tried to sort it by priorities: 1. More contributors to the Link-16 network such as ships (Nimitz class, Arleigh Burke, etc.), SAM Patriot, etc. 2. A/G capabilities - Land Point/Track (J 3.5) The J3.5 messages will be generated when an ground object is detected by any Link-16 capable resources (First, implement at least the coordinates and height. Then other data elements (land platform, land activity, land specific type). 3. Remaining A/A capabilities (target sorting, etc.), status of own aircraft in the group (ammunition, fuel, etc.) 4. Multinetting, network selection (and not automatically as it is now) and assignment of individual sensors to the network (AI ships, aircraft). 5. Change the SAM circle display option on the SA page. Now if SAM is set to be visible in the game, it can be seen on the SA page as well. If we have an MP mission where we want the SAMs to be controlled by a player, the position of the enemy air defense is revealed thanks to this function. I think in a real plane, the pilot records these circles via a datacard. So it was good to change the SAM cirle function on the SA page. 6. Surface capabilities - Surface PPLI, Surface Track. 7. Link-4, VMF. 1
Notso Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Excellent points. I would put this in the Hornet roadmap discussion thread instead of separate. System HW: i9-9900K @5ghz, MSI 11GB RTX-2080-Ti Trio, G-Skill 32GB RAM, Reverb HMD, Steam VR, TM Warthog Hotas Stick & Throttle, TM F/A-18 Stick grip add-on, TM TFRP pedals. SW: 2.5.6 OB
Martin2487 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Since the end of the year is approaching and a certain time has passed since we received the last function on the datalink, I would like to ask ED what functions he is preparing for us in the F/A-18 for Link 16. We have a road map. But when it comes to Link-16, I don't see much there. Thanks.
QuiGon Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I would already be happy if I could add and remove individual flight members (blue contacts) by adding/removing their IDs on page 3 of the DL DED menu. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Unfortunately I think the hornet will have to wait a couple more years to be completed. Just basing in facts here. Stay safe
Skarp Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Any updates for the fighter to fighter integration?
GumidekCZ Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 +1 Very, very good post Martin2487 I hope that dev still have these somewhere noted to be done. Would be great shame, if we will miss these in complete Hornet.
