Leutnant_Artur Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 With the upcoming Supercarrier DLC I was wandering how will the communication look like. Regarding to the info found in the doc. https://info.publicintelligence.net/F18-ABCD-000.pdf seems like the Hornet has Maritime mode selection. Keep up the good work ;) [sIGPIC]Luftgangsta[/sIGPIC]
Razor18 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Maritime is actually ship to ship communication. Carriers use air radio frequencies.
Ironwulf Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I am guessing it is used by the Hornet to contact ships in distress or as part of customs or sanction enforcement. Whilst not strictly needed in DCS, I guess it could be useful in some mission scenarios for realism.
Swift. Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 This is already functional through SRS, DCS outputs the corresponding VHF frequency for each maritime channel. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Razor18 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Not to beat on a dead horse, but I would jump for joy, if maritime radio would be the only thing left missing for realism.... By the way from the original question mentioning Supercarrier, I think he pretty much tought maritime radio had anything to do with carrier-to-aircraft comms, because the carrier is a ship...
