[REPORTED] SC manual - Misleading altitude in CASE I pattern diagram?

Page 40 of the supercarrier manual has an image of a CASE I approach which appears to show 450' ASL entering the groove.

 

That's way too high, no?

0.75 NM = 4557 ft.

 

 

A 3 degree glideslope = 238 ft, so it's about twice as high as necessary.

 

 

Isn't the glideslope 2 degrees on the carrier?

Yeah, something like that is what I had in mind.

 

The position of the text is a bit ambiguous so it's not clear exactly which point it's referring to.
