Ammo type with latest Open Beta

Did you notice, that the ED Warbirds now have additional types of ammo?

Or did I miss this in the earlier versions?

At least the K-4 has now tracers for the 30 mm, which is absolutely great. The 13 mm have less tracers, which is more realistic I think.

 

Now, if the ammunition type has a different effect on the target I don't know but I guess that until the new DM is implemented we won't see much differences.

I'd really appreciate some more details about the different loadouts, between combat mix, ground attack, anti-bomber, target etc.

 

Not just a website but something in like the ingame Wiki for it would be handy, like how pattern to a mix, the effects of specific rounds, and the differences between these mixes across the different countries, etc.

I saw white tracers mixed with yellow tracers when I chose HE on Dora.

Some documentation or an explanation from someone from ED would be much appreciated.

 

By the way, can they be selected when rearming during start-up?

Awesome, great work team and sneaking it in lol. Now we just need the data on what each belt consists of for rounds lol. :thumbup:

 

You can find this in the Weapons and aircraft lua files in Coremods/WWII Units.

 

Or at least you used to. For me all the aircraft luas show up as crazy wingdings except for the Mustang so either they changed something with these files to make them not readable for us anymore or I have some sort of weird font setting that I changed since the last time I looked in there.

 

For the Pony:

 

Combat Mix = Ball, APIT, API, AP, AP

 

AG = Ball, APIT, AP, AP, AP

 

CS = API, AP, AP, Ball, Ball

 

If anyone knows how to make the other lua files understandable let me know and I can see if I can find the belt combos for the other aircraft.

 

Edit: Also to answer MZs question, no convergence patterns are changed with the different mixes, I dont think thats even supported. The belts are slightly different between guns but thats just to desynchronise which guns are firing tracers so its not all at the same time.
