flavnet Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Hello everyone! I'm trying to understand for myself (in the absence of any explanation about the new TPOD) how to launch GBU38 on some tanks using the TOO function associated with the designation via TPOD. Before the last update, the operation was intuitive and fun (!). Because first of all the TPOD kept the view on the last tracked target, facilitating the designation of further targets of opportunity near. Now the TPOD after each launch, self-aligns (I don't know in which direction, maybe right ahead) causing the loss of sight of the group of targets and the waste of time (precious) in trying to find and track them. In short, a useful update the last. But it is possible that now something needs to be done to get what was previously the default. Unfortunately, in the absence of explanatory documentation, I dont known. Now I will try to do some tests with GBU12. If the TPOD does not keep memory of the last target point, then we are faced with a major flaw whose solution should be indicated by the developers.
Rmnsvn Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Change all the bombs to TOO first. If the one pylon is in TOO and the next is PP with no target set, Litening will reset itself to bore sight. However, switching from PP to TOO without moving litening will automatically bring it back to previous designation.

Seems to be this, which solved it al for me: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=274082 Jets Helis Maps FC 3 JA 37 Ka-50 Caucasus F-14 A/B MiG-23 Mi-8 MTV2 Nevada F-16 C MiG-29 F/A-18 C Mirage III E MiG-21 bis Mirage 2000 C i7-4790 K , 16 GB DDR3 , GTX 1660 Ti 6GB , Samsung 860 QVO 1TB
Woody01 Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Are you guys still getting the target designator diamond in the HUD? Since the update it is gone for me along with the ability to use CCRP. I have just done a repair, though I also did one after the update so will check again, but its making using any weapons with the TGP not worth the effort. I have all the issues I am reading in the recent threads about the TGP but it seems to me I have another layer of issues with it on top, unless there are new procedures I am not aware of? Madbrood Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Are you guys still getting the target designator diamond in the HUD? Since the update it is gone for me along with the ability to use CCRP. I jumped back into the Hornet for the first time in months last night - no issues with the target designator diamond, it showed in the HUD fine and I was able to release weapons. My issue was firing the laser... i7-4770k | EVGA GTX 980 SC | 16GB DDR3 | TrackIR 5, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals DCS: F-16C, F/A-18C, F-14A/B, AV-8B, FC3, A-10C, Black Shark II, UH-1H, F-86F, MiG-21bis, Mirage 2000C, AJS-37, F-5E :pilotfly:
Woody01 Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Yes for me it turns out a repair fixed a number of issues, I can now see the target diamond again! Still having trouble with the bloody pod slewing everywhere except where I want it but managed 7 out of 8 hits with GBU-12's (one missed because I forgot to flick the laser back to on) L MAVs also working again. Thanks guys! Thought I was going crazy! The Flying Kiwis - Since ages ago... Find us at https://www.simcentral.co.nz

I've only used "manual" mode and never used CCRP, so I don't know if it could be the reason why the designator diamond doesn't appear for you. Other than that, are you pressing TDC Depress ? Sprool Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Anyone lasing for LG-Mk82's - you having to reset the laser arm after each drop, and rehitting the Trig button on the MFD? Didnt do that before, which is correct and which is a bug? Firing Mavs via T-pod needs no reset of Laser arm or trig.
flavnet Posted May 25, 2020 Author Posted May 25, 2020 Anyone lasing for LG-Mk82's - you having to reset the laser arm after each drop, and rehitting the Trig button on the MFD? Didnt do that before, which is correct and which is a bug? Firing Mavs via T-pod needs no reset of Laser arm or trig. It seems that it is a mysterious new feature of the Tpod, so the TRIG function becomes useless since the laser activates itself 10 seconds after the impact (of course, LTD on is required). But all this is part of the general problem for which the reference documentation is not released in the face of an important update.
