[FIXED]C-130's wing tip position is wrong

Hello,

 

I found and corrected something on the C-130 in DCS World 2.5.6.49798

 

The wing tip position (for the vortex) has something wrong as you can see here:

 

So I analyzed, did some tests and I found the good place to correct this small mistake:

 

 

How to fix it:

1) Open the file:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Database\PlaneConst.lua

2) Go to the ligne:

3479

 

3) Correct the positions:

Old values:

New values:

wing_tip_pos =     {-2.627,    2.465,    19.9},

I don't get why it keeps breaking. It's been an on/off bug since the Harrier first entered EA years ago.

I wasn't aware of that fix. Until it's fixed officially, I'll mod it myself and I'll let my squadron know about it too. We spend enough time behind the KC-130 for this bug to be annoying.

I don't get why it keeps breaking.

its in a massive text file (currently 6303 lines) which is modified with every update.

so its probably due to poor merge management within whatever version control software they use.

 

anyway, thanks to astazou for finding the solution. ill add it to my personal patch set...

maybe something like:

branching off when the incorrect value is in the main branch, incorrect value gets fixed in the main branch, the feature branch with left over incorrect value gets merged into the main branch - and the dev fails to properly resolve the collision.

 

we should stop spamming in this bugreport though.
