wilbur81 Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Gamma set to 1.8. Don't turn on NWS light at night or you'll go blind. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
wilbur81 Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Good grief! This is with gamma of 1.3. Can we ease off of the Nuke-Lighting? :smilewink: i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
wilbur81 Posted June 10, 2020 Author Posted June 10, 2020 :(Well, no global lighting improvement after today's patch it seems. The hornet DDI's and MPCD are still too dim in daylight overcast conditions (in the 1st pic...it's 12pm & all 3 displays turned up to max). At night, still Nuke lighting at 1.3 gamma. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
VFA41_Lion Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 man that is way dark. Try 2.2 gamma? mine looks great with it.
wilbur81 Posted June 10, 2020 Author Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) man that is way dark. Try 2.2 gamma? mine looks great with it. Yeah, I've actually been trying 2.1 as well, but the point here is that it is only a major problem with overcast skies during the day. 2.1 gamma really washes out the terrain quite a bit.... and at night, it has to be slid back down so that night is, well, dark. :-) The lighting right now is just so inconsistent is so many ways. Before the first June update, this wasn't a problem in the Hornet. They really do take one step forward and five steps back right now, and it's frustrating. I know everyone says it, but it really seems as if the developers aren't testing the game before pushing it out. And for those that say, "it's Open Beta," Stable is now just a slightly less buggier version of OB at this point. Gryzor Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Its not related to GAMMA I think More with like contrast, washed colours now
wilbur81 Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Its not related to GAMMA I think More with like contrast, washed colours now That's definitely part of it. I run, through Nvidia Control Panel, the Contrast setting on 100%... a necessity since 2.5.6 and all the lighting issues. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC

Dull colours in MFD are more related to contrast, not with gamma settings. It would be great if we could have a option in menu just to change contrast and brightness, not only gamma. Unfortunatelly, in VR its impossible to change those values. There is a mod (3DMigoto from lefuneste) which you could change some others values, its great. I think it will updated to the last version.

Cgjunk2 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Is the insane level of haze considered part of the general lighting issues with the latest patches? It seems visibility is about 10 miles. I havent seen any discussion about the atmospheric haze by itself (maybe I missed it?). On a clear day with my visibility set at “ultra” I could make out the sea from Kutaisi two patches ago.
