Shimmergloom667 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 In Wags recent video on steerpoint creation in the Viper, he was using the INS subpage of LIST to create a new steerpoint. Shouldn't you be using the DEST page for that? Frederf Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 The video shows the STPT page. Look closely at 1:05 where RTN and ICP 4 are used.
VampireNZ Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 (edited) In Wags recent video on steerpoint creation in the Viper, he was using the INS subpage of LIST to create a new steerpoint. Shouldn't you be using the DEST page for that? (or of course the STPT priority page to edit the selected steerpoint) Agree, you would generally use the DEST page for adding additional steerpoints to your flight plan, i.e. not the active steerpoint. Is a better method as the SP does not have to be 'active' at the time of editing, as with the LIST-INS or STPT page methods. I.e While inbound using AP set to STRG SEL and you are faffing with SP precision or addition for later points in the flight. Wags actually used the STPT page to add a single steerpoint as he had none at all, so it's not like he was using a current SP and adding another, which is also a legit way to 'add' the position of your current JTAC tgt as he mentions. Just not sure why he didn't mention the DEST page method, which is more 'useful' if you have an actual pre-planned route already - maybe they are not modelling it? Edit: LIST-DEST page currently shows 'Under Development'... Edited June 5, 2020 by VampireNZ Vampire

I know, but my main gripe was him using the INS page for steerpoint entry but as VampireNZ said: DEST is obviously still under development, so WiP all good :) i7 - 9700K | 32 GB DDR4 3200 | RTX 2080 | VKB Gunfighter Mk II /w MCG Pro | Virpil T-50CM2 Throttle | TrackIR 5 | VKB Mk. Frederf Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 using the INS page for steerpoint entry But, he didn't? He used the STPT page, not the INS page. Am I missing something?
MROK73 Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 But, he didn't? He used the STPT page, not the INS page. Am I missing something? He said, wrongly, that one method is using INS page...which is incorrect. If we do it, we just screw all the alignment. The second one is using the STPT page, which change the actual steerpoint. The correct one to use, irl is the DEST page. Not available at time being... Cheers
ED Team Wags Posted June 6, 2020 ED Team Posted June 6, 2020 Correct, I misspoke. DEST, not INS. Apologies. Kind regards, Matt Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
