FlankerKiller Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 So I finally made it back around to flying some of the flaming cliffs jets. I've loved the Mig-29 since I was 12, and built a model of it. It was my favorite of the Lockon jets, and I spent time in it until i saw the Pfm on the F-15/Su-27. I have flown it a bit since it got it's own PFM, but this weekend I finally gave it some time. I'm blown away, after a weekend hunting big cats, admittedly against the Ai, I'm thoroughly in love! Its truly great to not be able to relay on FBW flight controls, and powerful radar to make up for my shortcomings. To work with a ground station for SA, and evade the Aim-54s until I can get close and work with the R-73s. What a hotrod of the air. But after all that I feel the experience was lacking. I want to tune the radios, to home in on a RBSN station, to click the damn cockpit. So ED I would gladly pay for an upgrade to the Mig-29S. I know you can't do new jets, but this one isn't new. I can't be the only one whow would gladly pay for a full fidelity Mig-29S, and pay full price. So please, please consider making this great jet fully modeled. The A would be great too. P.S. I bagged that big cat too.
streakeagle Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I would love to see any variant of the MiG-29 or Su-27 modeled as realistically as possible in DCS World. The PFMs were a huge step forward, but I am spoiled by the full systems modeling of most DCS addon aircraft. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Evoman Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 (edited) The reason as to why ED can not do full fidelity Russian aircraft can be found in this Podcast at 11:18 min. From my understating FC aircraft are not fully licensed which is why they currently exist in DCS as they are in their simplified and guesstimated form that does not require a license. However only 3rd party developers would be able to do a full fidelity Russian aircraft if they can obtain a license. https://alert5podcast.podbean.com/e/scramble-04-matt-wags-wagner/ Edited June 29, 2020 by Evoman
notproplayer3 Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I heard that having export versions such as the mig29K or the su30 (mki I think) would be possible. Full fidelity su27/mig29 ?

I my understanding is that the no modern Russian aircraft, applied to modern Russian aircraft. The Mig-29S/A/G in DCS is not modern. And that is the model I'm talking about. Those jets are from the 80's. If I third party could get the FM right, and the model, all work that is done already by ED. So I addressed my post to ED. Honestly I could care less if a truly modern model is ever made. I'm more interested in the older jets.

Realistically the Su-27S and at best (but doubtful) the Su-27SM. As well as the Su-33 (which is more or less identical to the S avionics and capability wise, but with notable changes to the airframe). For the MiG-29, realistically the MiG-29S and at best the 9.15 MiG-29M (yeah.......) tosmonaute Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 @FlankerKiller, I am just like you, i have a preference for 60's to begin 90's jets. Modern planes are so efficent, make them not fun as old birds in in''BVR'' and dogfights(it is just my point of view, not meaning to be the reality for all). 23 is on the progress, i believe we can have the 29 could to become a real project in futur. Yes i want the 29 in DCS.
